Serolsar Lake is only fifteen kilometres from Jibhi, so you could start early, hit the lake for a quiet morning, then head up to Jalori Pass for the afternoon view. That way you get both the water scenery and the high altitude panorama without a full day in the park. How long do you plan to spend on the trek?

You might start a bit later, say 6 am, to catch the lake when the mist is still hanging. The sanctuary’s main trail near the lake is flat and easy for kids, and the early morning light makes spotting deer and birds easier. After about two hours, head straight to Jataun Shiv Temple; the 10 km drive takes roughly 20 minutes. On the way you can pull into the small tea stop near the hill station for a quick break before heading back. If you want a relaxing pause after the temple, a short detour to Chillaru Spa & Resort in Solan offers a nice place to stretch before you return to Nahan. If you’re already near the bridge, the bus stop is about a five minute walk from HOTEL SHELTON RAJAHMUNDRY, so you could hop on a quick route and snap a few shots from the roadside. The walk across the bridge itself takes around 15 20 minutes, which is fine if you have a bit of spare time before heading out. If you’re pressed, the bus is definitely faster.

If you’re staying at Iyla Apart Hotel Pondicherry you’re only about a kilometre from the promenade, so you can stroll to Gandhi Beach, Promenade Beach and the Aurobindo Ashram in a single day. A quick cab from the airport to Paradise Beach takes roughly 30 minutes, so you could slot that into a second day if you want a longer break. A quick stop at the old Jain temple in Hazaribagh town can be a nice break. It’s only a 10 minute drive from the park and the morning light on the stone steps is pretty peaceful. If you’re staying in Ranchi, the Radisson Blu Hotel Ranchi gives you a convenient base to head back after the temple. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

A half day is usually enough to wander the chapel’s interior, pause at the altar, and admire the frescoes. If you’re staying at Treebo Rock Valley, the drive is only about fifteen minutes, so you can start early, finish by mid afternoon, and still hit the Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral before heading back. That gives a relaxed pace without rushing.

You might also stop at the small waterfall that spills into Chorabari from a side road; it’s a quick detour that adds a splash of scenery without much extra time.

You might also consider a quick drive to the Rock Garden in Chandigarh. It’s a quirky spot that feels intimate in the early evening, and the light on the sculptures makes for a nice photo. Afterward, the Tulip Inn Zirakpur is just under 8 km away for a relaxed stay.

If you’re aiming for that golden rim on the waves, a spot about 30 minutes after 5:30 am works well. The light is still low enough for contrast but the sun’s higher gives a softer glow on the surf. A lightweight tripod is worth it, especially if you plan to capture the Mandovi River a few minutes later its reflection adds a nice depth that the beach alone can’t provide. If you need a quick break before heading out, the Goa Marriott Resort & Spa is only about 700 m away.

If you’re staying at Prakriti The Retreat in Harsil, you can walk to Surya Kund right after your temple visit and fit in a quick 10 minute soak. The walk takes about five minutes, so you won’t miss the early morning quiet and the cooler water before the crowds arrive. If you have a bit more time, a longer dip in the early morning can be quite refreshing.

Chirala Beach is a good quick stop, and you can easily add the Prakasam Barrage right after. If you’re up for a longer day, the Undavalli Caves are free and the limestone arches are a nice contrast to the beach scenery. For a budget stay near Chirala, teeyesnexus offers a decent option without breaking the bank.

If you only have a few minutes, the Royal Mansion on the main road is a quick walk from the station. Its colonial façade shows the same early 20th century style as the narrow gauge platform, giving a quick visual cue to Bhuntar’s rail era heritage.

If you have a minute or two left, there’s a small stall right on the gallery’s main road that serves a quick “chole bhature” the spicy chickpea curry with a fried bread, ready in under ten minutes. It’s a local favorite and a quick way to get a filling bite before you head back to Andretta Pottery.

If you’re okay with a short bus ride, staying at Surya Heritage Hotels in Kannur is still the most budget friendly option. From the Parassinikadavu stop, a local bus takes about 15 minutes to Kannur, and the hotel is only a few minutes by auto. While in town, you can also walk to the historic Kannur Fort area, which is free, and then head to Payyambalam Beach for a sunset stroll. Try shooting in the early morning when the sun is low the light will give that misty, rainbow like glow over the drop. A smartphone with a wide angle setting works fine; just keep the camera steady on a small tripod or a stack of books. If you’re staying in Aizawl, Hotel Dinthar Zara is about 22 km away and offers easy access to the road that leads straight to the falls. This way you can spend more time framing shots and less time hunting for a good spot. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.
