How does October weather at Bhim Pakora compare to Mussoorie?

Pranab Kapur · 9 hours ago ·6 replies

I’m staying a short drive from Bhim Pakora, maybe in Dhanaulti or Dehradun, and planning a trip in October. The site says October is one of its best visiting months, but I’ve heard Mussoorie can still be chilly that time. Would you know if the weather at Bhim Pakora is milder than in Mussoorie during October? And is the 35‑km distance enough to expect noticeably different climates?

If you’re staying near Bhim Pakora in Dhanaulti, the altitude is a bit lower than Mussoorie’s hilltop, so temperatures in October usually stay a few degrees warmer. A 35 kilometre drive can feel like a different climate, especially when the roads climb into the higher slopes of Mussoorie. If you want a comfortable base, the Apple Orchard Resort By Royal Collection hotels in Dhanaulti is a good option, and you’ll still be close enough to head into Mussoorie for a day trip.

If you’re staying near Bhim Pakora, a good base is the Apple Orchard Resort By Royal Collection hotels in Dhanaulti. The resort’s lower altitude means you’ll likely see a few degrees warmer in October than in Mussoorie, and the 35 km drive usually feels like a short climb rather than a big climate shift. The road to Mussoorie passes through higher slopes, so you’ll notice cooler air there. It’s worth checking the resort’s weather app for daily temps before heading out.

The Apple Orchard Resort By Royal Collection hotels in Dhanaulti sits at about 1,600 m while Mussoorie is closer to 1,800 m. That 200 meter lift usually means a drop of a couple of degrees in October, so you’ll likely feel a bit cooler when you reach Mussoorie. The 35 km drive climbs gradually, so the change is noticeable but not abrupt. If you want to stay warmer, keep most evenings in Dhanaulti and head out for a day trip to Mussoorie.

Bhim Pakora sits at about 1,600 metres, while Mussoorie is around 1,800 metres, so you’ll usually see a couple of degrees drop when you head up. If you want a warmer base, the Himalayan splendour resort in Dhanaulti is close enough to catch the view but still keeps the evenings milder. Have you checked the local weather for the specific days you’ll be there?
