You could also take the Pune Airport Pune City bus to Pune Railway Station and then board a local train to Lonavala. From the station the lake is only a 15 minute walk. If you prefer a bus, the 12A runs every 20 30 minutes and drops you near the lake entrance, so you can keep the whole trip very cheap.

The best spot for a dramatic mist halo is the Gun Hill viewpoint just after sunrise. The higher angle keeps the spray in focus while the light is soft, giving you a clear foreground and a wide valley backdrop. If you’re staying at Hotel Vishnu Palace, the walk to Gun Hill is only a few minutes, so you can hit the shot early and avoid the later crowds.

If you head to Agatti for sunset, the ferry back to Soochirac usually leaves around 10 pm, so you can stay a little longer after the lights dim. That gives you a full evening on Soochirac to check the northern reef before heading to the pier for the next day’s boat.

If you’re okay with a short walk, Hotel Najaf Palace is about 1.8 km from the mosque and still within a 10 minute stroll. From Ajmer Junction you can catch the city bus on the “Old City” route that stops right near the mosque; the fare is a few rupees more than the regular city bus but it’s cheaper than a taxi.

You could also hit the small viewpoint right next to Lower Manair Dam. A quick five minute walk there gives a nice panorama of the reservoir and surrounding hills, adding a quick scenic touch to the drive. It’s a handy detour if you’re short on time.

You could also head to the small balcony overlooking the courtyard the pillars there have finely carved floral motifs that are great for close up shots. If you’re staying at Narendra Bhawan Bikaner, you can pop out, walk the short distance, and still make it back in time. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

If you’re staying near Dehradun, the overnight local bus that departs around 5 pm the night before gets you to Rudraprayag by about 8 pm. From the bus stop a short auto ride takes only a few minutes to Bright End Corner, so you’ll be ready for the 6 am sunrise without a long wait. If you prefer to rest beforehand, Himalayan Comforts in Rudraprayag is only about 21 km away and offers a convenient base.

You might want to check the weather on the Suru Suru road early in the day it can be slick after a night of frost. After the 10 km stretch to Suru, the main northbound road to the Zanskar pass is fairly straight, so you’ll spend less time turning around. If you’re aiming for a quick stop in Kargil, the Hotel The Haven Kargil is a reliable base after the pass.

If you’re only after the light show, the tower stays lit until midnight, so you can linger a bit after 9 pm for a quick panoramic snap before heading back. A five minute walk takes you to Mohali Market, where you can grab fresh fruit or a quick snack. If you’re staying at the Clubhouse Hotel Chandigarh Mohali, the walk is just ten minutes and you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the evening.

You might find that the school stays pretty quiet after lunch each day. The peak is usually the first two hours in the morning when most visitors arrive. If you want a quiet stroll, the late afternoon or early evening are best. Staying at the Green land Tower Hotel gives you easy access and you can walk to the campus from the lobby. If you’re staying at Vishnu Lok near Dehradun Railway Station, the train drop off is just a short walk from the hotel. From there you can catch a quick 10 minute taxi or a local bus straight to Simtola, keeping the kids together and avoiding extra luggage transfers. The taxi fare from the station is around ₹4,400 5,000 one way, which is cheaper than a full cab from city centre. This setup saves you a few minutes of travel time and keeps the route simple for a family group.

You could stop at Kokanwadi Resort for a quick coffee before heading to the lighthouse the terrace gives a nice sea view and the walk to the lighthouse is only a few minutes from the car park. From the airport or bus stand, an auto takes about 10 15 minutes to the lighthouse, then the 2 km walk to Mandvi Beach takes roughly 20 minutes, so you’ll hit the beach right before sunset if you leave the lighthouse around 3 p.m.

A small paid parking lot is right outside the entrance, which can be handy if you prefer to drive. If you’re staying at Neemrana’s Baradari Palace, you’re already under a kilometre away, so a quick walk or the city bus from the station will drop you straight outside. This makes it easy to head out early in the morning or late in the evening when the crowds thin, especially in late October.

The bridge has indeed gone through several upgrades since its 1975 opening. The main structural work was completed in 1975, but regular maintenance and widening projects began in the 1990s to handle the heavy NH 7 traffic. If you’re around, staying at Clarion Hotel Dehradun gives you easy access to the bridge and a good view of the river from the lobby terrace.

If you’re staying near the fort, dropping your bags at Fortune Inn Sree Kanya first frees you to head straight to the beach. From Rushikonda, a quick 15 minute ride to Kailasagiri gives you a good sunset view before you finish the day at the zoo. Parking at the fort is free, but the beach and Kailasagiri lots fill up by noon, so arriving early helps.
