After Vishalgarh you could head straight to Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary it’s only 25 km and you’ll get a quick nature break before the long drive to Neermahal. From there a 20 km trip back to Ujjayanta Palace will still keep you in the city before dark. A local taxi from The Parkline can drop you off at each spot, and if you prefer public transport, the Agartala to Neermahal bus leaves early enough to fit the whole loop into one day.

If you want to keep walking, you can go from Annandale to Christ Church along Mall Road, then catch a shared auto from the church to Jakhu. The auto ride is only a few rupees. For lunch, try the small dhaba just off Mall Road; they serve a simple thali for under ₹200. If you need a place to stay later, Hotel Springfields is a short walk from the temple.

You might also try a quick walk to the Qutb Shahi gardens right next to the fort. The garden’s open layout lets you frame the bastions against a green backdrop, giving a softer contrast than the plain courtyard. If you’re staying in Vijayawada, the Lemon Tree Premier Vijayawada is a convenient spot to reset before heading back out for another angle.

You might also spot the small stone tablet on the north wall of the main hall it records that the temple was commissioned around 850 CE by King Pratap Sena, who noted the deity as Swayambhu. If time allows, ask the keeper at the entrance for a quick copy of the plaque; it often has a concise chronology that fits your window.

I’d add that the 1944 secret meeting between the ruler and the Congress was held in the council hall, whose teak roof mirrors a nearby stepwell design. Guides often pause there to explain how that session influenced later governance plans. If you’re staying at Lemon Tree Hotel Rajkot, ask the reception for a walk that includes that hall.

After the river walk at Saraswati, the kids can enjoy the small playground near the visitor centre where they can feed the deer. From there a quick 45 minute drive takes you to Rajaji’s main gate for a short jeep safari. On the way back, stop at ArtBuzz Rishikesh for a relaxed coffee before heading home.

The bus stop is right next to Lodhiana Railway Station, so if you hop off there you’ll be only a short walk about two hundred metres to the fort. If you prefer not to walk, a quick cab from the station is still the fastest option. After you finish, the Rose Palace Hotel is just under 400 metres away, so you could grab a coffee before heading back. Have you considered timing your visit to avoid the midday heat?

The cable car usually shuts down a bit before sunset, so you’ll probably have to wait for the last ride. Paragliding is strictly a daytime sport, so you’d miss that after 4 pm. If you’re looking for a quick Himachali bite before heading back to Manali, there are a few spots around the base of the valley that open late do you know if the “Kangri” café is still open that evening?

If you’re staying at Evershine Resort & Spa you’re about a kilometre from Wilson Point, so you can get a good spot early before the crowds from Venna Lake and Mapro Garden start filling the area. This can make the sunrise slightly less crowded than a Saturday morning.

If you’re taking the local bus from Bahadurgarh, note that the stop that drops you off is right at the temple gate, so you won’t have to walk far. Also, the parking fee is nominal just a few rupees.

If you’re arriving at the airport, a quick 10 minute taxi gets you to Sagarika Emporium, where there is free parking near the entrance. The Cellular Jail opens at 8 am, so if you land before then you can catch it right after your shopping. After the Jail, a short walk takes you to the TSG Grand, which offers a free shuttle back to the airport and a quick coffee spot. This keeps the whole loop under two hours.

If you’re already in Dimapur, the quickest way is a direct cab to Khomi Village the 45 50 km drive takes about 1½ to 2 hours. If you’d rather stop in Kohima first, you could stay at Niraamaya Retreats Aradura Kohima and catch a shared taxi the next morning; that adds a night but keeps the last leg short. The train to Dimapur takes about an hour, and the cab from the station is the same distance as the direct route.

If you’re catching a train, the best way from Kokrajhar station is to ask a driver for a short taxi hop it’s about 30 minutes and the taxis are usually waiting right outside the platform. If you prefer a cheaper option, a shared auto rickshaw departs every 20 minutes from the bus stand and drops you at the town centre in roughly 15 minutes. Just avoid leaving after 5 pm to beat the evening traffic surge.

A quick stop at Dholai Village after Umiam gives a taste of traditional Khasi houses and a few colonial structures that you won’t see elsewhere. It’s only a short drive from the lake and adds a cultural layer to the loop. If you’re staying in Shillong, Living Roof is close to the highway.

December is a good pick if you want a longer evening light the sunset over Hiriyur Lake usually comes around 6:30 pm, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the view. If you’re staying near Tirupati, the Pai Viceroy Hotel Tirupati is a convenient base and the bus timetable still has a 5 pm departure that will get you there in time for the sunset.
