October vs February for a weekend paragliding trip at Paragliding Point?

Tariq Gogoi · 5 days ago ·12 replies

Which month, October or February, gives better conditions for a weekend paragliding trip at Paragliding Point? I’m looking at the best time to visit, and the spot is open all day with free entry. The area is known for its ideal wind in those months, but I’d like to know if one offers more reliable conditions. Also, do the wind speeds differ noticeably between October and February?

In October the wind tends to be a bit stronger and more consistent, usually around 15 20 km/h, while February winds are gentler, closer to 10 12 km/h. If you’re after more lift and longer flights, October is usually the safer bet. For a relaxed weekend you could still do a nice launch in February, just expect shorter flights. If you’re staying nearby, the Sterling Stolen Heaven Lonavala is a convenient base with good reviews.

If you’re looking for more reliable lift, October’s 15 20 km/h winds are steadier than February’s 10 12 km/h. The wind can be a bit gustier in October, but you’ll get longer flights. A good spot to stay nearby is the Sterling Stolen Heaven Lonavala, which is only about 7 km from the launch site.

If you’re hoping for the most reliable lift, October’s 15 20 km/h winds tend to hold steady better than February’s 10 12 km/h. The gusts in October are a bit stronger but they give longer flights, while February offers gentler, shorter hops. Staying at Sterling Stolen Heaven Lonavala keeps you close to the launch and gives good comfort after a day in the wind. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

In February the wind is steadier, usually 10 12 km/h, which means less gustiness but also less lift. If you want a longer glide and can tolerate a bit more wind variability, October’s 15 20 km/h is more reliable. Have you tried staying at Sterling Stolen Heaven Lonavala for easy access?

In February the cooler air tends to create steadier thermals, so while the wind is lighter you often get smoother, more predictable lift. October’s stronger breezes can be gustier but give more lift for longer flights. If you’re staying near the launch, the Sterling Stolen Heaven Lonavala is a convenient base.

If you’re aiming for the most predictable lift, February’s steadier 10 12 km/h winds often give smoother thermals, while October’s stronger 15 20 km/h gusts can boost lift but add variability. A good compromise is staying at the Sterling Stolen Heaven Lonavala, which puts you just under 7 km from the launch and has plenty of fresh air for a relaxed weekend.

If you’re aiming for the most consistent lift, February’s steadier 10 12 km/h winds usually give smoother thermals. October’s stronger 15 20 km/h gusts can produce longer flights but add a bit more variability. For a comfortable stay close to the launch, the Sterling Stolen Heaven Lonavala is a solid option.

If you want a quieter base that’s a little farther out, Olive Tree Resort in Malavli is only about 7 km away and has a good view of the launch area. It’s a solid option if you’re planning a longer weekend and don’t mind a short drive.
