If you want a quieter break, try the stretch of beach right next to the InterContinental Marine Drive. It’s flat, usually empty before sunset, and you can sit on the sand and listen to the waves. After a couple of hours you can hop back to the hotel for a drink if you want to stay in the area.

You could aim for the 5:30 am bus from the Tirupati depot it arrives around 6:15 am, so you’ll be on the hill before the sun gets too high. If you take a cab from the airport, ask the driver to stop at the small tea stall under the banyan tree on the ascent; it’s a cool break spot locals use before the main walls. This way you beat the midday heat and the crowds.

You could leave around 5 am, hit Sanjan Bagh first to beat the crowds, then head to the Sanchi stupas which are only about 20 km away. From there, drive to Bhimbetka, roughly another 30 km, and you’ll finish around 5 pm. If you want a place to drop your bags after the day, Hotel Morya Meghdoot is only 0.4 km from the city centre, so it’s a convenient base.

A quick walk from one end of Satpura Bridge to the other and back takes around 20 minutes. If you’re staying near the Old City, Udman Hotel Panchshila Park is only a kilometre away, so you can grab a coffee and freshen up before heading to Qutub Minar.

If you’re arriving around 4 p.m., you might want a place that can drop you off quickly near the Nako Monastery. Hotel Kalpa Deshang has a small tea shop on the same street, so you can grab a quick drink before heading out, which is handy if you’re late. This can shave a few minutes off your drive to the temple. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

A quick bite near the bus stand is the stall that sells bhandara a spicy lentil wrap that you can grab and eat while walking back to the temple. If you prefer something sweet, the paper cup phirni is light and easy to carry. On the main road close to the temple, a small tea stall offers steaming masala chai and roasted peanuts, perfect for a quick snack on the go.

If you’re aiming for a quiet walk at the temple, try arriving right after the gates open around 6:30 am. The crowds usually swell after 9 am, so you’ll have a clear view of the gopurams. From there, head straight to Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal; the walk takes about 15 minutes. You’ll get a good view of the palace’s façade before the sun gets hot. After the palace, the museum is a short 5 minute walk away, so you can finish the day with the exhibits while it’s still cool. If you’re staying near the temple, Hotel Grand Sabarees is only 0.8 km away and offers easy access to all three sites.

If you’re staying at Hotel Le Roi Jammu, the bus stop is literally outside the hotel, so you can hop on route 3 or 5 for a quick 10 minute ride to either Bahu Fort or Raghunath Temple. The taxis at the airport and railway station are usually ready, and the 5 km stretch to Bahu Fort takes about 15 minutes. If you prefer walking, the temple is only a kilometer away, so a short stroll works well too.

If you’re only on the island for a few hours, a quick stop at the fish stalls before noon usually gives the best price. Also, the vendors near the landing point sell fresh coconut water for a few rupees, which is great for staying hydrated while you enjoy the beach.

If you’re in a tight one hour window, the quickest way is to take an auto from the Roorkee railway station straight to the main gate about five minutes. Walk directly into the shrine, take a quick darshan, then head to the kitchen for the free langar. If you need a place to rest afterward, the Ambrosia Sarovar Portico in Haridwar is only about eleven kilometres away.

You might want to hit Keibul Lamjao right after the lake; the park has a short trail to the kingfisher nesting area that takes about an hour. A local 4 wheel drive can drop you at the park gate and pick you up from the boat launch, keeping the day smooth. On the second day, instead of heading straight to the fort, stop at the Kangpokpi market first for a quick taste of local cuisine before you drive west. This way you get a bit of trekking, a boat ride, and a cultural bite all in two days.

If you’re staying at Dash Hotels, you can walk from the Baradari to the Qutb Shahi Tombs in about twenty minutes. From there, a quick cab to Golconda Fort takes just fifteen minutes, saving you the steep climb. After the fort, you could head back by foot or grab a ride to a nearby café to unwind before heading back to the Baradari. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

The best time to visit is between October and March when the weather is mild. The museum’s planetarium shows run during the evenings, and the zoo is less crowded after the monsoon. You can walk to RK Beach and Kailasagiri without the heat, and the night lights on the beach are great for solo photos. If you’re staying near the city, the Super Townhouse Gajuwaka Near CMR Mall is within walking distance of all these spots.

You might also try the small dhaba on the main road opposite the temple it opens at 5 AM and serves a quick Parsi style breakfast of steaming puri, sweetened milk and a cup of chai. If you prefer a sit down spot, the café at Regenta Central Harsha Vapi also opens early and offers a light menu that includes hot samosas and fresh fruit juice. Does anyone know if the dhaba stays open all week?

The spring’s myth is tied to the story of Lakshmana’s injury during the exile of Rama. According to legend, the gods poured water at the spot where Lakshmana lay wounded, and the healing waters were later sanctified by a sage who had met Rama. That’s why the temple beside the baths is dedicated to Lord Rama pilgrims first offer prayers there, believing the waters are blessed and can cure ailments. If you’re staying near Navsari, the Uday Palace Navsari provides a comfortable base for early morning visits.
