You could also head straight from Visakhapatnam to Araku via NH 16 and then NH 215, cutting the drive to about 140 km and about 3 hours. From Araku you can take a local bus or taxi to Paderu, which is only 12 km away, instead of driving the whole way from Visakhapatnam. That keeps the forest road section shorter and gives you a chance to stop for coffee in Araku before the steep climb.

If you’re shooting the museum’s stone carvings, try the late morning around 9 a.m. in late autumn. The sun is higher than sunrise but still low enough to give soft shadows on the stone, and the light is less diffused, so the details pop. The canopy at Sepahijala stays lush, giving a sharp green backdrop. Staying at Hotel Anurag Palace keeps you close to the route, so you can hit each spot before the heat builds.

If you’re only in Varkala for a few hours, try arriving around 3 pm. The light is still bright enough for a clear view of the carvings, and you’ll have a good window to head back to the beach for sunset. If you can stay a bit longer, the evening pooja around 6 pm is quieter and the lamps create a nice ambience. A short stay at Villa Luca By Elixir Cliff would let you rest before the ceremony.

The river usually stays calm in November, and the forests stay green after the monsoon. In Thattekad Bird Sanctuary, the mist clears around 9 am, so you’ll see more resident species later in the day. If you’re staying at Maram Resort Mamalakandam, a short drive gets you there. Do you plan to visit early morning or later?

If you’re short on time, a quick loop to Shringa Rishi Temple and then the park entrance is the most efficient. From Banjar, head east on NH5, stop at the temple for about 45 minutes, then drive another 30 minutes to the park viewpoint, spend 90 minutes there, and return the same way. This round trip takes roughly three hours total. If you want a place to drop bags before the drive, Madpackers Jibhi is only 8 km away and sits right on that route.

You could try a low angle shot from just inside the outer arch, pointing the lens slightly upward so the central pillar frames the kids while the carved lintel casts a subtle rim of light. It gives a vertical sense of height without overcrowding the frame. If you’re staying nearby, Hotel Akanksha in Jagdalpur is a convenient option.

A good plan is to spend about an hour and a half inside Marble Palace give the marble halls 45 minutes, the sculpture gallery 20, and the private zoo 15. If you’re staying at Hotel 16 avenue you can walk to Victoria Memorial in roughly fifteen minutes, then hop on the metro for a quick Howrah Bridge stop before heading back.

If you’re staying at The Mohua Hotel, you could grab a quick coffee before heading out and then catch the local bus that runs every 15 20 minutes to Jagannath. After you finish at Parnashakti, a short taxi back to the hotel will give you a chance to relax before the evening crowd arrives. This way you avoid a long continuous walk and still cover both temples in one day.

A good option is to leave Mount Retreat a bit earlier than 5:30 a.m. The road through Alagar Kovil stays quiet, and once you pass the temple you can take a side lane that skirts the main gate of Pazhamudhircholai. From the outer courtyard, shoot when the sun is low on the left; that angle keeps crowds behind the arch and highlights the carvings.

You could also park right beside the pedestrian lane; the lot is free and gives instant access to the bridge. From HOTEL SHELTON RAJAHMUNDRY it’s just a ten minute walk, so you could step onto the bridge, take a quick stroll and head back before your next leg. This cuts the taxi drive time and still lets you enjoy a better angle than the roadside. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

You could also stop for a quick bite at the park cafés near Kankaria; they serve local snacks and give a nice break before heading back. If you’re staying in Rajkot, the Lemon Tree Hotel Rajkot is a convenient spot to refresh before you finish the day.

A quick option from Hubli Junction is to take the local “K” bus that stops right outside the temple; it runs every 20 minutes and is very family friendly. If you prefer a bit more comfort, The President Hotel is only a short walk away and offers family rooms. The temple kitchen also serves a simple thali with plain rice, dal, a mild curry, and a fresh salad you can ask for a smaller portion if the kids are picky.

You can also head straight to the forest road from Paderu, which is about 20 km to the summit. The path is steep and can be slippery if it rains, so a light rain jacket is handy. If you need a base, Vana Resort is only 12 km away from Paderu and offers decent facilities. Do you know if you’ll need a permit for the trek?

You might want to check out the local museum at Dawki that explains why the bridge was built in 1932. It’s only a short walk from the bridge and gives a quick background before you head back to the root bridges and Mawlynnong.

If you’re looking for cooler weather and less crowds, March is a good choice temperatures are mild and the river is still clear. October, after the monsoon, has lush green hills but can be humid. A quick stop at Rishikesh is worth it for a morning Ganga swim or a stroll through the ashram area, and the ArtBuzz Rishikesh hostel is a convenient base if you stay overnight.
