You can also grab a quick bowl of pakhala bhat at a stall just a block south of the temple it’s a fermented rice dish with curd that locals love. Do you prefer the quick street bites or a sit down place?

If you hit the temple around 8:30 a.m. you’ll dodge the larger crowds and still have time for a leisurely walk through the tea gardens before they close at five. After the gardens, a quick stop at Chaukori for its panoramic view is a great way to round out the day before heading back to Pithoragarh. The shared jeep that drops you at the temple usually stops at Chaukori, so you can hop on there without extra hassle.

If you arrive around 10 am you’ll catch the 30 minute guided walk and still have a few hours before the 4 pm match. After the game a quick 10 minute drive takes you to the Gurugram Heritage Museum for a quick history bite, and on the way back you can grab a coffee or snack at goSTOPS Gurugram, which is right on the route.

You could start at the museum around 9 am, spend roughly 90 minutes, then walk the kilometre to Benaulim Beach. From there a quick scooter hop of about ten minutes gets you to Colva, where the beach walk takes another 15 minutes each way. If you’re staying at Casa De Alnena, the return walk is just a few minutes and you can grab a light snack before heading out again. The November February season keeps the evenings cooler, so the whole loop fits comfortably before dusk.

You could also stay at Sunray Village Resort, which is only about 15 km from Baruva Beach. From there a quick auto takes around 10 minutes to the lighthouse and 40 minutes to Srikurmam Temple, so you can hit both sites and still return before dark. This keeps the whole loop doable in a single day.

If you’re staying at Ramee Grand Hotel, you could leave around 9:30 am to beat the lunch rush at the Shivaji Museum, then hop on a quick auto or taxi. The 5 km walk or 10 minute ride gets you to Shaniwar Wada well before its 5 pm closing, so you’ll have a relaxed afternoon covering both spots.

A quick note after you finish at Charan Paduka you can head straight to Dal Lake for a sunset paddle; the boat rides start around 5 pm and the lake looks especially serene after the temple’s evening prayers. If you’re staying at Hotel O POP Foreshore Resort, the drive is only about ten minutes, so you can swing by the temple, grab a quick snack, and then head out for the lake without rushing.

If you’re staying at Neemrana’s Baradari Palace you’re already a few hundred metres from the palace entrance, so a quick walk or the city bus from the station will get you there in under five minutes. The palace’s 24 hour access means you can head out right after sunset when the crowds thin and the temperature drops, which is especially nice in late October.

If you’re only in Port Blair for a few hours, you can grab a few items at Sagarika Emporium and still reach the Cellular Jail. From Veer Savarkar airport the taxi takes about ten minutes to the emporium, then a 15 minute walk to the jail. If you need a quick break, the TSG Grand is only 400 m away and offers a shuttle back to the airport, so you can refuel before heading out.

You could stay a night in Manali and then do a one day trip to Tosh. The last bus from Manali to Barshaini leaves around 8 pm, so if you head back the same evening you’ll still have time to explore the valley in the morning and return before dark. This way you avoid a long overnight drive and still get the sunrise view.

If you want to keep the day tight, start around 5:30 am from Bhubaneswar, take a shared auto to Dhauli, then hop on a local bus to Lingaraj. After a short walk or auto hop, you’ll reach Khurda Fort by noon. A quick stay at Hotel O Sunshine 2, just 16 km away, lets you rest before heading back.

You’ll find that the descent is usually faster than the ascent, so you can finish the trek by early afternoon. In October February the trails stay relatively dry, but mist can linger in the early hours start the hike right after the temple so you’re on the ridge before the fog lifts. After you come down, a drive of about 15 km takes you straight to the waterfalls, giving you a chance to cool off before sunset. If you need a place to stay near the base, Hotel Ambika International Byndoor is a convenient option.
