Best time to trek Kodachadri and see Mookambika Temple?

I’m planning a trekking trip to Kodachadri and also want to visit the nearby Mookambika Temple and Hidlumane Waterfalls. Kodachadri sits in the Shimoga district at 13.8667°N, 74.8333°E and is open 24 hours. The temple is just 10 km away and the waterfalls are another 15 km from the peak. Based on the best‑time list, October to February seems ideal, but I’m not sure how the weather affects the trek itself. How long does the trek usually take, and are there any seasonal tips for combining all three sites?

A typical trek to Kodachadri takes around 6 - 8 hours if you start early, so plan to leave before noon. In winter the trails are cooler and clearer, but keep an eye on sudden cold fronts. A good route is to visit the Mookambika Temple first, then hike up, and after descending head to Hidlumane Waterfalls - the 15 - km stretch is doable in a single day. Bring rain gear just in case, even in the dry season.
