Best route for a weekend visit to Parnashakti Temple and Jagannath Temple

Manav Dandekar · 6 days ago ·14 replies

I’m planning a short weekend break from Ranchi and want to see both the Parnashakti Temple and the Jagannath Temple. The Parnashakti Temple is open 24 hours and entry is free, and the Jagannath Temple is only about 10 km away. I’m wondering whether I should head straight to Parnashakti first and then walk to Jagannath, or if it’s better to start at Jagannath and then go to the Parnashakti Temple. Also, is it realistic to cover both sites in a single day, or should I split the visit over two days?

Since the Jagannath Temple is only ten kilometres away, you could start there first in the morning. It opens earlier than the evening crowd, so you get a quieter visit. Afterward, head to the Parnashakti Temple, which stays open 24 hours and is free perfect for winding down late at night. If you’re staying in Ranchi, the Radisson Blu Hotel offers a good base and easy access to both sites. This way you can cover both temples in a single day without rushing.

Since the Jagannath Temple is only about 10 km from the Parnashakti Temple, you could hit Jagannath first in the morning, then head to Parnashakti for the evening. The walk is roughly 15 km round trip, so you’ll finish early enough to stay overnight at a place like Radisson Blu Hotel Ranchi, which is close to both temples. This way you cover both in one day without rushing.

You could hit Jagannath first in the morning, then head to Parnashakti around dusk. The walk is about 15 km round trip, so you’ll finish early enough to catch a late dinner at Radisson Blu Hotel Ranchi, which is close to both temples and offers easy parking. This way you cover both sites in one day without rushing.

You could also consider staying at The Mohua Hotel if you want a higher rated option close to the city centre, then take a short taxi to either temple. Do you plan to walk the 15 km between the two or would you prefer a local bus or taxi for the return leg?

If you’re planning to walk, the 15 km round trip is doable but you’ll want to start early. A quick stop at The Mohua Hotel for a light breakfast before heading to Jagannath can give you a few extra minutes of rest. Once you finish at Parnashakti, you can walk back or catch a local bus. This keeps the day tight but lets you see both temples before dark. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

You could start at Jagannath in the morning, then head to Parnashakti around dusk. The 15 km walk takes about 3 4 hours, so you’ll finish before midnight when Parnashakti is still open. If you’d rather avoid a long walk, a short taxi from a nearby hotel like Bloom Hotel Ranchi would let you see both temples in one day.

If you’re staying near the city centre, the Mohua Hotel gives you a quick taxi hop to Jagannath and then a short ride to Parnashakti, so you can finish both by evening without the long walk. That way you can enjoy the temples in one day and still have time for a relaxed dinner.

If you’re okay with a bit of walking, you could start at Jagannath early, then head to Parnashakti around dusk. The 15 km walk takes about three to four hours, so you’ll finish before midnight when Parnashakti is still open. A quick stop for breakfast at The Mohua Hotel first thing in the morning can give you a fresh start and a short taxi back if you prefer to skip the walk.

If you’re staying at The Mohua Hotel, you can hop in a taxi to Jagannath first thing in the morning, then head back to the hotel for a quick break before walking the remaining stretch to Parnashakti. This way you avoid a long stretch of continuous walking and still hit both temples in one day.

If you’re staying near the city centre, a quick taxi hop from The Mohua Hotel to Jagannath and then another short ride to Parnashakti will keep the day tight. The 10 km between the temples is easy by bus, and you can finish both before midnight when Parnashakti is still open. This way you avoid a long walk and still get a relaxed evening.
