If you’re only stopping for a couple of hours, the Varahi Temple’s steps are easy for kids and the small playground nearby lets them burn off energy. After that, a quick 30 minute walk along the riverbank in Jageshwar offers a gentle trail and a chance to spot local wildlife. If you can stretch a bit longer, The Green Village Eco Resort Jageshwar is about 40 km away and has a kids’ play area and a short nature trail that’s family friendly.

If you’re already near the beach, the Hotel Royal Grand Heritage is just a few minutes from the lighthouse, so a quick walk or a rickshaw will do. From the airport a taxi takes about 45 minutes straight to Puri, then a local minibus or rickshaw can drop you right at the lighthouse. The railway station is a bit farther out, so a cab or rickshaw from there is still needed.

If you’re heading from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, a private cab will get you to the Laitlum bus stop in about an hour, and from there you can catch a local bus or a shared taxi to the canyon. If you prefer a more comfortable ride, consider staying at Awoo Resort in Bomdila; the resort can arrange a pick up for you and the drive takes roughly 45 minutes to the canyon, giving you extra time for early morning light and bird spotting.

The bridge was first opened in 1975 and has since seen widening projects in 1994 and the early 2000s to keep up with NH 7 traffic. If you’re staying nearby, the Clarion Hotel Dehradun offers a convenient base with a nice view of the river from its lobby terrace.

If you’re looking for a quieter stretch after sunset, Miramar’s beach is less crowded and the waves are calmer, so a late evening stroll can be a nice wind down. A quick paddle board session around mid afternoon at Dona Paula gives a fresh angle on the cliffs before heading to the viewpoint. Afterward, grabbing a bite at The Hawaii Comforts is a convenient break before you head back. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

If you’re still stuck in a crowd, try heading to the zoo a bit later in the afternoon when the early morning rush thins out. A quick walk to the nearby Radisson Kufri for a coffee break gives you a nice view of the hills while you wait. You could also swing by the ski slopes for a quick snow play before heading back.

Just a heads up Gandhi Smriti has a small information desk that opens around 6 am, so you can grab a quick map before the prayer. Do you plan to bring a camera, or just want a quick walk through?

A quick stop at Pobitora is worth it if you’re up for a 30 minute detour; the park’s rhino population is impressive and the drive takes you past some nice river scenery. If you’d rather keep the drive short, the Borail View Regency sits just 13 km from the sanctuary and gives you a comfortable spot to relax after the ride. Either way you’ll hit the sanctuary well before midnight.

If you’re looking for a quieter spot but still within a minute’s walk to the museum, 440 a serene stay is a good choice. It’s just 0.38 km from Gandhi Smarak and offers free parking, so you can drop off a car and stroll to the Riverfront without a taxi.

You could also stay a bit longer after the last cable car and walk to the viewpoint. The path stays clear and the lights at the top give a nice evening view of the valley. If you’re in a hurry, the Kangri café still opens till about 8 pm, so you can grab a quick Himachali thali before heading back to Manali.

A good tweak is to hit Saraswati first thing in the morning, then head north to Rajaji for a quick 1 hour jeep safari around noon. After that you can loop back south and stop at ArtBuzz Rishikesh for a quick coffee before heading home. Kids often love the small playground near the visitor centre in Saraswati where they can feed deer.

Since the temple is open all day, you could start early and head straight to the Jaipur Zoo. The walk is only about five kilometres and passes through some shaded lanes. If you want a quick break, the café inside Jai Mahal Palace offers a cool spot before you head to Hawa Mahal. That way you avoid the midday heat while still covering all three sites.

A quick auto from the Mathura Bus Stand takes about ten minutes and usually costs ₹15 ₹20. If you prefer a quieter base but still close, Hotel Aryavilas is only 1.8 km away and the auto ride is just a few minutes. Do you plan to visit the temple early in the morning or later at night?

A good window is just after 9 am. The caves open then, crowds thin, and the heat is still manageable. From the caves it’s roughly a 20 minute walk to Juhu, so you’ll be on the beach by 6:10 6:15 and can catch the sunset before the evening crowd starts. If you’re staying at The International by Tunga, the short distance makes the whole day flow nicely.

If you’re staying near the museum, try heading out around 8:30 am. The crowds are still thin and the air is cooler. After the museum, you can hop in an auto for a quick 10 minute ride to Shaniwar Wada, giving you plenty of daylight to explore before it closes at 5 pm.
