Which route is better to reach Borail Wildlife Sanctuary from Silchar in the late afternoon?

Aniket Sharma · 4 weeks ago ·17 replies

I’m arriving in Silchar around 4 pm and want to head straight to Borail Wildlife Sanctuary. I know cab services are available from Silchar and the sanctuary opens 24 hrs with free entry. I’m debating whether to take a direct cab to the Borail Bus Stop or go via Hajo or Pobitora first. Which route would give me the best chance to reach the sanctuary in time and also see something interesting on the way?

A straight cab from Silchar to the Borail bus stop takes about 30 40 minutes, so you’ll hit the sanctuary before midnight. If you want a quick detour, stop at Hajo on the way; it’s only a few minutes off the route and you can see the famous Shiva temple and the scenic river bend. That gives you a quick cultural bite without delaying your arrival.

You could stop at Hajo for a quick temple visit and a river view, then head straight to the sanctuary. If you want a place to settle after the drive, the Borail View Regency is only about 13 km from the sanctuary and offers decent rooms for a short stay. That way you get a quick cultural bite and a convenient base for the next day.

A quick stop at Pobitora is worth it if you’re up for a 30 minute detour; the park’s rhino population is impressive and the drive takes you past some nice river scenery. If you’d rather keep the drive short, the Borail View Regency sits just 13 km from the sanctuary and gives you a comfortable spot to relax after the ride. Either way you’ll hit the sanctuary well before midnight.

If you’re looking for a quick cultural bite without losing too much time, a brief stop at Hajo works best. The Shiva temple and river bend are only a few minutes off the main road, so you’ll still hit the sanctuary well before midnight. After the drive, you could stay at Borail View Regency for a comfortable base if you plan to explore the area the next day.

If you’re keen on a quick wildlife bite before the sanctuary, a 30 minute detour to Pobitora is worth it. The park’s rhinos are a highlight and the drive shows a nice river valley. From there you can hop straight to the Borail bus stop and still arrive well before midnight. If you want a place to unwind after the drive, the Borail View Regency sits just 13 km from the sanctuary.

Since the cab from Silchar to the Borail bus stop is only about 30 40 minutes, you’ll reach the sanctuary before midnight. If you want a quick cultural stop, a brief detour to Hajo adds the Shiva temple and a river bend, only a few minutes off the main road. After the drive you could head straight to the sanctuary or, if you’re staying overnight, the Borail View Regency is just 13 km away and gives you a comfortable base for the next day. The direct cab is only about 30 40 minutes, so you’ll be in the sanctuary before midnight. If you want a quick stop, Hajo’s Shiva temple is just a few minutes off the road, and the river bend is nice for a quick photo. Afterward, the Borail View Regency sits just 13 km from the sanctuary and gives you a comfortable base if you plan to stay overnight. If you’re in a hurry, the direct route is safest.

If you’re only looking for a quick wildlife bite, a 30 minute detour to Pobitora is the best choice. The rhinos are easy to spot and the drive shows a nice river valley. From there you can head straight to the Borail bus stop and still reach the sanctuary well before midnight. If you’d rather stay a bit after the drive, the Borail View Regency sits just 13 km from the sanctuary and offers a comfortable base for the next day.
