If you’re staying at The Parkline, you could start at Vishalgarh, then head straight to Neermahal. From there the 20 km drive back to Ujjayanta is quick, so you’ll finish before dark. A local taxi can drop you off at each spot, and the bus that runs from Agartala to Neermahal leaves early in the morning, so you won’t miss the sunset.

If you’re staying at the Jai Mahal Palace, the walk is only about fifteen minutes and you’ll beat the midday crowd. The narrow lanes just inside the main gate are where the hand loom cotton and silk stalls cluster, while the corner facing the bazaar square is the spot for fresh cardamom, cumin and garam masala. Early morning after sunrise gives the quietest vibe, but a late afternoon stroll still keeps the market lively without the rush.

If you’re staying at Hyatt Place Bodh Gaya, you can hop on the 3:45 am bus and arrive right when the mist lifts. Just after that, the sanctuary’s waterholes become very active around 5 6 am, so staying a little longer into the morning can boost your chances of seeing deer and peacocks at the water.

A small note the shops in Chitkul usually open a bit later in September, so you might need to wait a short time for supplies. Staying at Hotel Batseri keeps you close to the trail and lets you pick up a guide who can adjust the pace to match the low traffic.

Just a heads up the main trailhead for the Great Himalayan National Park from Gushaini is on the right side of the river, about a 15 minute walk from the village centre. Parking is free but limited, so arriving before noon gives you a good spot and lets you beat the midday crowd. If you’re staying overnight, The Hosteller Tirthan Valley sits right on the riverbank and keeps the trailheads within walking distance, which is handy for a sunrise trek.

If you’re staying at Citrus Chamber Mahabaleshwar you’re only a few hundred metres from Wilson Point, so you can beat the crowds by heading out around 5:30 am. The sky is usually clearer on Monday or Tuesday, and early morning light gives a crisp view before the lake’s reflections start to blur the horizon.

You might also consider a quick stop at the Hotel Shelton Rajahmundry. It’s just under five kilometres from the ISKCON temple and has a riverside terrace that offers a slightly elevated view of the Godavari and the temple’s reflection. The angle there gives a different depth to the same scene you’ll capture at the riverbank. It keeps the total walk under ten kilometres and adds a subtle variation to your portfolio.

If you stay at Hotel Le ROI Lake View Koti, you can drop by the Shivpuri temple on Day 2 for a quiet break before heading to Rishikesh. The temple is just a 30 minute ride from the dam, so you’ll still have plenty of daylight for the trek. It offers a nice mix of culture and a shorter walk for the kids.

If you’re willing to stretch a bit, the KIIT University campus is about 6 km away and has a small lake and a few cafés. It’s a quiet spot to stretch your legs and grab a drink before heading back to the garden.

If you’re staying at Clubhouse Hotel Chandigarh Mohali, you can hop out, hit the tower for the light show, and then stroll to the nearby Mohali Market for a quick bite. The market is only a five minute walk and has a good mix of snacks and fresh fruit, so you’ll finish the evening with a quick local taste before heading back.

If you’re staying at the 3 BY OYO Nami Residency, the walk to Gandhi Smriti is still under a minute, so you’ll get there just as the early morning prayer crowd has finished. The ashram’s traffic usually ramps up around 9 am, so you’ll have a quiet slot before the main influx. If you’re curious about the vibe later in the day, you could loop back to the ashram after your visit.

A good tweak is to leave the lighthouse for the late afternoon, so you can walk to Mandvi Beach right as the sun sets. If you’re staying near Dhokamale, a quick coffee at Kokanwadi Resort before heading out gives a nice break and a sea view from the terrace. From the airport or bus stand, an auto to the lighthouse takes about 10 15 minutes, then a 20 minute walk to the beach. This keeps the heat low and lets you enjoy both spots comfortably.

You could also book a stay at Prakriti The Retreat in Harsil. From there the final 32 kilometre stretch to Yamunotri is a short auto ride or brisk walk, so you’ll be close to the shrine after a long drive. If you leave Dehradun before 7 am, traffic usually clears by 10, making the 4½ hour bus or cab trip smoother.

You might also check if any local guide offers a short 3 hour trek from Tosh to a nearby viewpoint. A quick walk to the pine lined ridge gives a good photo spot before heading back to Manali.

If you’re staying at Neemrana’s Baradari Palace, you’re only half a kilometre from the palace entrance, so a quick walk or the city bus from the station gets you there in under five minutes. The palace’s 24 hour access lets you visit early in the morning or late in the evening when the crowds are thinner, especially useful in late October when temperatures drop and the gardens look beautiful.
