The church’s original 1579 stone façade is worth a quick look before you head inside. Once inside, the 16th century iconostasis gives a good sense of the interior layout, then the side chapel shows the early pulpit. Right beside the church is a small Dutch style gatehouse you can glance at. If you have a few minutes after that, the nearby St. Joseph’s Church on the same street is another quick 17th century spot worth a quick look. Afterward you could stop by Hotel Aida for a coffee before continuing your drive.

If you’re heading straight to the tower for the light show, you’ll find the nearby Mohali Market just a five minute walk away. It’s a small street market with stalls selling local snacks, fresh fruit, and quick bites. A quick stroll there after the show lets you try some local treats before heading back to your hotel.

The temple also hosts a short storytelling corner where a guide explains the legends in a kid friendly way, which keeps the little ones engaged. If you’re staying in Nandyal, Hotel DR Indraaprasthaa is a convenient base and its kids’ menu is handy after the visit.

You might want to book a local bus that leaves Chandigarh’s bus stand at 07:00 and arrives in Rupnagar around 09:30. The fare is roughly ₹200 per person. Once there, a shared auto can drop you at the gurdwara complex in about 10 minutes. If you stay in Chandigarh, the train to Rupnagar departs every hour from 06:30, so you can reach the town by 08:00 and still catch the morning prayers.

If you’re staying near the town, the Hyatt Place Bodh Gaya is close to the bus stop, so you can hop on the 3:45 a.m. service and arrive just as the mist lifts. A cab cuts the drive to about 20 minutes, but the bus gives a good balance of cost and timing. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

A good slot is right after the museum opens, around 8 or 9 am, when only a handful of people are inside. If you finish the exhibit by 11 am you can walk or take a short taxi to Shaniwar Wada and still be there before it closes at 5 pm. Staying at Ramee Grand Hotel puts both sites within a 15 minute drive, so you can swing between them easily.

If you’re coming from Gurgaon, the easiest way is to take the Delhi Metro to the nearest station and then a local bus or auto to Town Park. The park is about 7 km from Bahadurgarh, so you could also catch a bus that stops there and walk in. The best weather for a run is indeed in March, April, October, or November when temperatures are mild. If you end up staying nearby, the Townhouse OAK Hotel C Pearls in Bahadurgarh is a solid option.
