You could try the khandvi stall on the left side of the main path they serve fresh khandvi and a quick cup of masala chai ready in a minute. If the line gets long, the ARTILLA INN a short walk away has a small cafeteria that offers a Gujarati thali and a quick chapati with dal. Do you prefer a quick bite or a slightly bigger meal before the evening pooja?

If you’re not staying at Courtyard Nashik, you can still ask a taxi at the station to drop you off right at the vineyard entrance. Most drivers offer a flat rate for the 10 km stretch, so you’ll know the cost upfront and can time your arrival with the vineyard’s opening hours.

A quick walk from the lake takes you to the Port Blair beach stretch where you can grab a coconut water for a few rupees and enjoy the sunset. If you want a place to rest that won’t dent the budget, consider staying at Hotel Atlanta it’s only a short drive from the lake and offers decent rooms for a reasonable price.

If you have a little spare time, walk over to the Banaras Hindu University campus right beside Dashashwamedh Ghat. There’s a small museum that’s free and gives a quick academic perspective on the area. After that you could head back to Saroja Heritage for a relaxed evening.

If you’re not staying in a hotel, the dhaba about 300 metres from the caves usually opens around 10 am and serves a simple vegetarian thali that includes dhokla and kadhi. It’s a quieter spot than the hotel dining rooms, so you can finish your meal and head back to the caves without much noise. Do you know if you’d prefer a place that stays open late, or is an early lunch fine?

If you’re already stopping at Virupaksha or Vittala, the extra 30 40 minutes to Hemakuta is a quick climb that gives you a quiet spot to take photos of the whole complex, especially at sunrise. The temple itself is modest, but the view over the ruined city is worth the short detour. If you’re in a hurry, you could instead grab a quick break at Royal Rich County in Gangavathi and skip the hill.

If you’re staying at Hotel Atharv, you could grab a quick tea at the nearby stall before heading to the temple, then use the same route to Panhala the next day. The 20 km drive is roughly an hour each way, so plan for at least a full afternoon to see the ramparts and the panoramic view of the Western Ghats. Have you checked if local buses run between Kolhapur and Panhala during your stay?

If you’re okay with a longer day, catching a bus from Calicut Airport to Wayanad Bus Stand is pretty straightforward. The main service departs roughly every two hours and the journey takes about 8 to 9 hours. From the bus stand, a local bus to the Chembra trailhead runs every 90 minutes and takes around 1½ hours. That puts you at roughly 9 to 10 hours total, but you can break the trip by stopping at Sterling Vythiri Wayanad just half a kilometre from the bus stop to grab a bite or a quick rest before heading up.

A quick 5 km walk from Lonavala Lake to Duke’s Nose takes about 15 20 minutes, so you could fit it in before heading to Mumbai. The viewpoint is especially nice around sunset when the Ghats glow, and there’s a small parking area nearby. After you’re done, you could stop by the Elite Hotel for a quick coffee or a short break before you hit the highway again. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

If you’re staying at Green land Tower Hotel you can walk out to the park and then hop into a local taxi or rickshaw for the 3 km drive to the museum. The museum usually has free parking right outside the main entrance, so you won’t have to hunt for a spot. After the museum, a quick 10 minute ride takes you to the temple, and the 8 km stretch to the caves is a smooth drive on the main road, usually around 20 minutes. This keeps the whole loop well before sunset.

If you’re heading straight from the airport, consider parking at the Peer Kho complex; it has a small lot that frees up around 10 am, so you can lock up early and still be on time for the temple. After that, a quick 5 km drive to Raghunath and then the 6 km stretch to Bahu Fort keeps the whole loop under an hour. This way you’ll finish before noon and have a few minutes left for a coffee near the fort.

Starting around 6 am gives you a full morning. The 5 km drive to the temple takes about 15 minutes, so you can spend roughly 1.5 hours there. From the temple to the Ashram is another 5 km, another 15 minutes, and a 2 hour visit is doable. The 10 km hop to Kankaria Lake is about 20 minutes; a 1.5 hour walk plus a quick 30 minute boat ride covers the highlights. In total you’ll be on the road for about 2.5 hours and in sites for 5 hours, so you can finish by late afternoon without rushing.

You could also head to Lingaraj Temple after the park it’s about 2 km away and opens at 6 am, so you can get a quick visit before the caves open. If you need a coffee break, Green land Tower Hotel is just a short walk from the stadium.

If you arrive around 4 5 pm the sun will still be up, but the sea breeze usually kicks in after sunset and can drop the temperature by a few degrees, especially along the outer wall. Pack a light hoodie or scarf for the walk back and keep a reusable water bottle handy the breeze can feel a bit brisk when you’re near the sea. A short walk to Fortview Suites gives a good view of the sea and a comfortable place to unwind after the fort.

If you’re staying near the city centre, you can drop a cab at Super Hotel O Jawahar Marg and hop on bus 39A. The bus stops right at Pakora Point Bus Stop, and the return trip uses the same route, so you avoid extra cab costs. The viewpoint’s parking is free, so if you prefer driving you can park there and walk to the lookout.
