Early morning plan to hit Peer Kho Cave Temple and nearby sights?

Paramjit Vaz · 1 week ago ·17 replies

I’ll be arriving in Jammu early in the morning and want to see Peer Kho Cave Temple before noon. The temple is open all day, so I can start there right away. After that I’d like to visit Raghunath Temple (about 5 km away) and Bahu Fort (roughly 6 km). What’s the most efficient route to cover these spots in the morning?

Since you’ll be early, head straight to Peer Kho. From there, the shortest loop is to go to Raghunath Temple first, then on to Bahu Fort. It keeps the travel distance low and lets you finish before noon. If you’re staying near the city centre, the KC Residency is a convenient spot to drop off your luggage before the trip.

After Peer Kho, head to Raghunath Temple first; it’s only about 5 km and you’ll still be well under noon. From there a quick 6 km stretch takes you to Bahu Fort. If you need a place to drop luggage before you start, KC Residency is close enough to make the morning smooth. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

After Peer Kho you’ll be about 5 km from Raghunath Temple, then another 6 km to Bahu Fort. If you drop luggage at KC Residency first, you’ll have a short walk to the temple and then a quick drive to the fort, keeping the whole route under an hour.

You could drop your luggage at KC Residency first it’s only a 7 km walk from Peer Kho. From there head to Raghunath Temple, then a quick 6 km stretch to Bahu Fort. The total drive stays under an hour, so you’ll finish before noon and still have time for a quick coffee before heading back.

After Bahu Fort you’re only about 4 km back to the city centre, so you can finish the loop and drop your luggage at KC Residency before heading to your next stop. This keeps the morning tight and lets you return to the hotel with plenty of time for a coffee break.

You can start at Peer Kho, then head to Raghunath Temple and finish at Bahu Fort. A quick 5 km drive to the temple, then a 6 km stretch to the fort keeps you under an hour. If you need to drop luggage, KC Residency is only 0.7 km from the start.

If you’re staying near the city centre, drop your bags at KC Residency first it’s less than a kilometre from Peer Kho. From there you can walk to the temple, then take a short drive to Raghunath Temple and finish at Bahu Fort. The whole loop stays under an hour, and you’ll have plenty of time for a quick coffee before heading back.

You could also consider heading to Bahu Fort first after Peer Kho, then back to Raghunath Temple. The 6 km leg to the fort is a bit longer than the 5 km to the temple, but the route from the fort to Raghunath is only about 4 km, keeping the total drive under an hour. This way you finish the loop and can drop your bags at KC Residency before heading back.

You could also consider dropping your luggage at KC Residency first it’s only a 0.7 km walk from Peer Kho. From there the 5 km drive to Raghunath and then 6 km to Bahu Fort keeps the total under an hour. If you need a quick coffee spot near the fort, there’s a small café on the main road. Have you checked the parking situation at Bahu Fort?

Bahu Fort has a small parking lot right in front of the main gate, but it can fill up by noon. If you’re worried about a spot, try arriving a bit earlier or ask the guard for a reserved spot. It’s a good idea to have a backup plan, just in case the lot is full.

You might also consider dropping your bags at KC Residency first, then walking the 0.7 km to Peer Kho. From there you can head straight to Raghunath Temple and finish at Bahu Fort, keeping the whole loop under an hour. If you’re worried about parking at Bahu Fort, the main gate has a small lot that usually fills by noon, so arriving a bit earlier could save a search.

If you’re heading straight from the airport, consider parking at the Peer Kho complex; it has a small lot that frees up around 10 am, so you can lock up early and still be on time for the temple. After that, a quick 5 km drive to Raghunath and then the 6 km stretch to Bahu Fort keeps the whole loop under an hour. This way you’ll finish before noon and have a few minutes left for a coffee near the fort.
