A quick walk takes roughly 20 25 minutes, plus a few minutes for photos. If you’re near the Old City, a stop at Udman Hotel Panchshila Park for a coffee or quick refresh is handy before heading to Qutub Minar.

You might also stop at the western wall of Chapora Fort for a quick viewpoint it gives a wide sweep over the Arabian Sea before the sun climbs higher. If you’re up for a short drive after Vagator, a quick detour to Sinquerim beach on the way to Fort Aguada offers a quieter stretch and a fishing village vibe that’s nice in the early morning.

A good middle ground is the first half of November. The sea stays calm, temperatures hover around 26 °C, and the crowds are light. During that window a night at Canara Vibes in Murdeshwar typically drops to about ₹8 800, so you keep the budget tight while still catching the golden sunsets.

The dhaba opposite the temple keeps its poha and upma on the menu every day, even weekends. If you’d rather sit, the Regenta Central Harsha Vapi café is only a short walk away and opens around the same time.

You could leave Bhopal around 5 am, reach Sanjan Bagh by 6, then head to Sanchi right after lunch. The stupas open at 9 am and close around 5 pm, so you’ll have a few hours there. From Sanchi, a quick 30 km drive takes you to Bhimbetka; the rock shelters stay open until 5 pm, giving you a late afternoon visit. If you need a place to drop bags before heading back, Hotel Morya Meghdoot is just a few minutes from the city centre.

If you’re planning to start the trek after 4 PM, early September is a solid choice the trail stays dry, the light is warm and you’ll still have a good window to catch the sunset around 7 PM. After the walk you could head back to Lidder View Resorts for a relaxed evening and enjoy the sunset from the terrace without trekking back.

You’ll still get a clear view at 4 5 pm in October. The air will hover around 10 15 °C, and a light wind can make the lake look a bit misty. Sunset is close to 5 pm, so you’ll have a short twilight window before dark. If you need a warm spot after the walk, Aaryam Resort Auli is just a few kilometres away. Do you plan to stay overnight or just a quick visit?

If you’re shooting during the golden hour just before sunset around 5:30 to 6:00 pm the light is soft and the play equipment will have warm highlights. A small tripod or a stable surface helps keep the camera steady for longer exposures, especially if you want to capture kids moving around. If you need a place to park, the area near Capital O Siddartha Grand has a few spots that work well.

Since you’ll be arriving late, you could swing by Dhauli first for the Ashoka Pillar and reliefs, then head to Bhimkhoj for the mythic spring, and finish with a quick walk around Lingaraj Temple. If you need a place to rest afterward, Hotel Jasmin Palace in Angul is only about 13 km away.

If you have a full day, a quick drive from Barot to the Kullu Valley’s wide river bend gives you both meadow reflections and pine backed vistas. From there a short detour to the pass near Bir Billing before sunset will let you capture the snow capped peaks silhouetted against the calm river. Staying at Hotel Kullu Valley A River Facing Boutique Hotel puts the riverbank right at your doorstep, so you can shoot valley and river without extra travel.

The statue itself is quick to see, but if you have a bit of extra time, walk to the nearby Sri Adi Shankara Ashrama. It has a small library and a peaceful meditation corner that can give you a moment of calm. From there, a short stroll to the town centre lets you sample local coconut water and sweets just enough to stretch your legs before you hit the road again.

If you want to see how the paintings evolve live, the village lets you sit with a local artist and even try a brushstroke. The museum’s layout is tighter and the guide talks about the history of each motif. On the way you’ll find a few auto rickshaws that charge around ₹30 ₹40 for the 2 km hop, and a shared taxi runs every 20 30 minutes. If you’re staying near Patna, the SHARDA RESIDENCY is about 129 km away and you could hop a bus from there to the village.

In October the humidity starts dropping, so mornings can feel a little brisk just a light jacket is enough. By noon the museum’s climate control keeps rooms around 22 °C, so a long sleeve or sweater works well. If you need a quick break, the Super Collection O Kalinga Bapuji Nagar is only 0.4 km away and has a nice lounge area.

You could also hop on the local train from the Victoria Memorial area to Howrah Bridge; the station is a short walk from the memorial and the fare is almost free. Near Victoria, there are small tea stalls that sell inexpensive “puchka” and “jhal muri” a quick bite before heading to the bridge. If you need a cheap place to sleep close to all three spots, Polo Floatel Kolkata is only 0.6 km away.

The fort also houses a small museum with period weapons and a few interactive displays that keep kids curious. If you’re staying near the fort, The Hotel Canoe is only a few minutes away, so you can drop by for a quick break before heading to Payyambalam Beach. Does anyone have thoughts on the best time of day to visit the fort to avoid crowds?
