The drive from Rankala Lake to Panhala Fort is about 20 km, so you’ll spend roughly 45 minutes on that stretch. After the fort you can head back to the city and stay at Hotel Atharv, which is only 260 metres from the Mahalakshmi Temple and keeps you close for the next day’s plans.

You could leave around 9 am, spend about 45 minutes at the temple, then drive the 5 km to Narayan Sarovar. The lake walk takes roughly 20 minutes, so you’ll be back around 4 pm and can catch the 5 pm aarti without rushing. If you want a quick bite, there are stalls right by the lake that serve local snacks.

Will Channapatna be too crowded for a quick stop?

Channapatna Toys runs 24/7 with free entry, so you can drop in any time. It’s only about 20 km from Ramanagara, a place that gets a decent crowd on weekends. If you’re only stopping…
