Radhanagar’s NH53 is a single lane coastal road but usually has lighter traffic after 7 am, and the speed limit is around 60 km/h. Elephant Beach’s back road is a two lane track with a 50 km/h limit and can stay clear if you leave after 9 am. If you need a quick refuel stop, Heaven Stay is a short 0.3 km walk from your starting point. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

The Hola Mohalla usually wraps up in early April, so if you arrive a couple of days before the last week of March you’ll still catch the main events. A convenient stay is Hotel Sarai Bharatgarh in Rupnagar it’s only about 11 km from the gurdwara complex and close to the shared auto pick ups. If you prefer a quieter base, staying in Chandigarh and taking the early morning train to Rupnagar each day keeps you within an hour’s commute. Does anyone know if the festival schedule changes that year?

The temple has a small stroller parking zone right next to the entrance, so you can leave the stroller there while you walk the 5 km to Upper Ahobilam. Do you know if the kids will need a snack stop along the way?

You can catch the 45A local bus from the nearest metro station; it drops you right outside the park entrance. If you’re planning a run, the early Saturday morning slot is usually the quietest, with the air still crisp after the night.

You can also book a shared auto rickshaw from the Gossaigaon bus stand; they leave every 20 minutes and the fare is fixed at about ₹150. If you prefer a private car, many drivers will accept a small surcharge for a quick 15 minute ride. From Kokrajhar station, the taxi drop off point is right outside the main platform, so you can get a ride immediately after the train arrives. Just remember that traffic can slow things down during the evening peak.

Start at the airport, head to Undavalli Caves first it’s only about 6 km away and you’ll avoid the later traffic. From there, drive to Prakasam Barrage, which is a quick 3 km hop and gives a nice river view. Finish the day by climbing Indrakeeladri Hill to reach the Kanaka Durga Temple; the hill road is straightforward and you’ll have the sunset over the city. If you need a place to stay, the Capital O Siddartha Grand is close to the airport and the city centre. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

From Jolly Grant Airport you can catch a shared taxi or a local bus heading east toward Rudraprayag; the journey takes about an hour and a half. Once you reach Rudraprayag, a short local auto or rickshaw will get you to Bright End Corner. If you’re staying near Dehradun, a day trip by taxi is the most straightforward option.

I’ve heard that the winter months, especially December and January, often give the clearest sunrise colors, but the best time can vary from year to year. Have you checked any local weather patterns or sunrise times for the specific dates you’re planning?
