If you’re heading from Aluva, you can catch a KSRTC bus that stops right outside Thattekad it takes about 40 minutes and is cheaper than a cab. From Paniyeli Poru, the 200 metre walk to the main waterhole is easy, but renting a small motorbike lets you see the surrounding paddy fields in a few minutes. If you want a comfortable base for a day at the sanctuary, Maram Resort Mamalakandam is just 20 km away and gives you early morning access.
