If you’re heading early, the first mini bus from Dehradun Bus Stand leaves around 5:30 am and stops right at Kali Temple. The fare stays in the low single digit rupee range, so it beats a train plus local transport. If you need to drop luggage, you can leave it at Vatsyayana A Himalayan Boutique Resort in Tota am, about 31 km away, before catching the next bus.
