If you want to cut down on daily transport, staying near the lighthouse means you can hop on a short auto rickshaw to Marina Beach for just a few rupees, rather than a longer walk from the beach side. A budget option a bit closer is the E Hotel, which sits about 2.8 km from the lighthouse and still lets you walk to the beach in a few minutes. Do you think that small extra walk is worth the lower daily travel cost?
