If you’re staying near Tada, the PPH Living KVR Residency gives you a short drive to both spots. On a day trip you could start at Nelapattu in the morning to catch the early heron activity, then head to Pulicat for a pedal boat ride after lunch. The lake’s larger size lets the kids spot flamingos from the water, while the sanctuary’s visitor centre has a kids’ activity corner that keeps the younger ones engaged.
