If you’re already staying near Dehradun Railway Station, dropping the kids off at Vishnu Lok and catching the local bus to Simtola saves a few minutes. The bus fare is cheap and the ride is short, but you’ll still need to transfer a bit. A cab from Dehradun is the most hassle free, keeping luggage and children together, though it’s a bit pricier. Flying via Jolly Grant Airport is still extra travel for a weekend.
