Where to find good local food near Siddhpur Stepwell for a photo shoot?

Pooja Saikia · 1 month ago ·22 replies

I’m planning a photo shoot at Siddhpur Stepwell and also want to capture some authentic local cuisine while I’m there. The stepwell is open 24 hours and free to enter, with the best times to visit being October, November, February, and March. It’s just a short walk from Rudra Mahalaya Temple and Bindu Sarovar, so I could combine a few shots of the carvings with a quick meal nearby. Any suggestions on nearby eateries that are popular with locals and would provide good food photography opportunities?

You could head to the small dhaba on the main road opposite the stepwell it’s a favorite among locals for thali and street style snacks. The place serves freshly made dhokla and a spicy Gujarati thali that look great on camera. If you want a more upscale bite, the restaurant at The Grand Raveta a short drive away offers authentic Gujarati fare in a polished setting.

You might also try the little stall on the corner of the main road that serves a spicy Gujarati thali and freshly made dhokla; the plates are colorful and the steam makes great shots. If you’re willing to walk a bit further, The Grand Raveta restaurant a short drive away has a more polished setting and the same local dishes, so you can get both street style and upscale food photography in one day.

If you’re up for a short walk, there’s a popular dhaba just off the main road that serves a spicy Gujarati thali and freshly made dhokla. The plates are colorful and the steam makes great shots. For a more polished look, The Grand Raveta restaurant a short drive away offers the same local dishes in a nicer setting. That gives you both street style and upscale food photography options in one day.

You might also check out the stall near the entrance that serves freshly made fafda with kadhi the bright yellow batter looks great on camera. If you prefer a sit down option, The Grand Raveta a short drive away has a corner dedicated to local street food replicas, so you can capture both the casual vibe and a polished setting in one outing.

A good spot is the little stall right by Bindu Sarovar that serves fresh khandvi and dhokla. The thin, translucent layers of khandvi look great in close up shots, and the dhokla comes in a steaming bowl that adds texture. If you want a more polished backdrop, you could head to The Grand Raveta a short drive away for a sit down thali that’s also popular with locals.

A quick walk from the stepwell takes you to a small stall right beside Bindu Sarovar that specializes in fresh khandvi and dhokla. The translucent khandvi rolls look great in close up shots, and the steaming dhokla adds texture. If you want a more formal setting later, The Grand Raveta is about 27 kilometres away and offers a polished thali.

If you’re looking for something a bit more refined after the dhaba, The Grand Raveta is a short drive away and still very local. It serves the same Gujarati thali but in a polished setting, so you can capture a contrasting vibe in the same day. Have you tried the khandvi rolls at the stall by Bindu Sarovar? They’re a favorite for close up shots. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.
