If you take a direct bus from Calicut Airport to Wayanad Bus Stand it usually departs early morning around 6 am and lands near 2 pm, so you’ll arrive just before the trailhead opens. From the bus stand the local 22 or 23 bus to the Chembra trailhead takes about 90 minutes, with stops at Poochakkal and Kalpetta. If you prefer a single ride, a cab from the airport is about four and a half hours, but you’ll pay roughly double the fare. If you’re staying near the bus stand, the Sterling Vythiri Wayanad hotel is only a 10 minute walk, making the final leg easy.
