If you’re staying at Citrus Chamber Mahabaleshwar, you can head straight to the temple after 9 pm and the evening crowd is usually already thinning. The lights turn on around 10 pm, so you’ll get a quieter, more reflective atmosphere. If you want a calm walk to Venna Lake first, it’s still a short walk before the temple opens, so you can avoid the midday rush entirely. Does anyone know how the crowd behaves on a weekday versus a weekend night?

I’m planning a family visit to Durga Devi Temple in Uttarakhand. The shrine is open 24 hours and entry is free, so we’re flexible with timing. It’s about 25 km from Rishikesh and 50 km from Haridwar,…
