Since Nelapattu is free and open all day, you could start early with the guided wetland walk to catch the herons before the heat, then head to Pulicat for a pedal boat ride after lunch. The lake’s size gives kids a chance to see flamingos from the water, while the sanctuary’s visitor centre has interactive displays that keep younger ones engaged. Staying at PPH Living KVR Residency keeps both trips short and gives a relaxed base for the family.
