The festival is usually in late March, so plan to arrive a couple of days before the last week. If you fly into Chandigarh, a taxi to the railway station and then a 1 hour train to Rupnagar is the quickest. From the station a shared auto drops you at the gurdwara complex in about ten minutes. Staying at Hotel Sarai Bharatgarh keeps you only 11 km from the town centre, so you can catch morning prayers and stay for the evening processions without daily commuting.
