If you can spare a bit more than a quick stroll, the Punjab Cottages let you sit in a shaded courtyard for a few minutes and then you’re only a short walk from The Piccadily Hotel Chandigarh where you can grab a coffee before heading back. That extra five kilometres gives a calmer break without much extra travel time.

If you’re after a quick wildlife burst, head to Velavadar early in the morning blackbucks are most active around sunrise, and you’ll also catch a few wolves or hyenas in the late afternoon. The park’s 24 hour access lets you squeeze in a late night bird walk, too. After that, a short drive to Iscon The Fern Resort & Spa in Bhavnagar gives you a comfortable base without a long trek.

You could also hop on a short Ganga boat ride from Dashashwamedh Ghat in the early morning. It gives a quiet view of the ghats and lets you spot locals doing their morning rituals before the crowds arrive.

If you want a cheaper stay, Surya Heritage Hotels is a solid pick. The local bus from Parassinikadavu to Kannur runs roughly every 20 minutes and drops you near the town centre; a quick auto ride takes you straight to the hotel. While you’re in Kannur, you can walk to the historic fort area and then head to Payyambalam Beach for a sunset stroll, all free of charge.

A good spot is about 5:30 am, when the light is still soft but the sky is dark enough to give contrast. A tripod is handy for those low light shots. If you linger a bit after dawn, the river’s reflection adds a nice touch, but the beach itself is already striking early on. If you’re staying near the coast, the Goa Marriott Resort & Spa is close to the shoreline and a convenient base for early morning shoots.

Sounds good just a heads up that most of the afternoon heat starts after 3 pm, so if you’re staying at Ashok Villa you’ll be only a 10 minute walk from the sunrise spot and can leave your room around 5:30 am to catch the first light. Let me know if you’d like a quick tip on the best spot to watch the sunrise.

Try heading for the small clearing just before the ridge drops into the forested slope of Mount Harriet. The angle there lets you frame the beach, the ridge line, and the mountain all together, and the mangrove fringe nearby gives a nice foreground for kingfisher shots. If you’re staying in Visakhapatnam, the Super Hotel O Suryabagh Near Jagadamba Theater is a convenient base.

If you’re hoping to see the intricately carved stone lintels on the eastern side, you’ll want to get there a bit earlier in the evening before the light fades. A quick stop at Hotel O Saket Homes in Bhubaneswar for a short break could let you hit the eastern facades in good light before heading back to the site. Does anyone know if the eastern entrance is open at 5 pm?

You might also check out the small market just a few steps from the Durtlang trailhead it’s a quick spot for fresh bamboo tea and light snacks before you head back to the city. If you’re staying near the monument, the Emerald Hotel is only a short walk away.

Banjari Mata Mandir is also famous for the 18th century frescoes inside the sanctum that depict the goddess’s victories over local tyrants. The temple’s foundation stone was laid by a Maratha general who claimed the area after a long siege, which explains the blend of stonework and sandstone dome. If you’re staying in Raipur, consider Hukam’s Lalit Mahal for easy access to the site.

Since the museum opens at 10 a.m., you could aim to finish the palace walk around 9 a.m. that way you hit the museum right when it opens and avoid the midday crowd. If you’re staying near the temple, Hotel Grand Sabarees is a convenient base just under a kilometer away. Does anyone know if the museum has a quiet section for early morning visitors?

You might consider staying at Humming Bird By Aaryam on Day 1 so you’re within walking distance of Madhyamaheshwar and can hop on a shared taxi around 10 am for the 2 hour climb to Tungnath. That way you avoid the long return bus and still have time to rest before the trek to Chopta the next day.

You might want to check the “History of Gujarat” wing at Science City it has a small interactive timeline and scale models of forts that kids usually love. After that a quick walk to the Sidi Saiyyed Mosque gives a nice contrast, and the old clock tower is right next door. If you need a quick break, the ARTILLA INN is only a short walk away and has a comfortable lounge for the kids.

October afternoons can reach 32 °C but evenings cool down, so a light jacket is handy. You’ll likely see a few showers, so an umbrella is wise. The museum is less busy than the monsoon peak, but weekends still draw crowds. If you’re staying nearby, the Capital O Siddartha Grand is only 300 m away and offers easy access. Have you checked the exact opening times for your visit day?

The road from Tawang to Nuranang is mostly gravel and can be slow during monsoon. If you go early in the day, you’ll avoid the late afternoon traffic that often piles up near the border post. A shared taxi is cheaper, but a private hire lets you stop at the small tea stalls along the way without waiting for others. If you’re planning a quick visit, a private hire is usually worth the extra cost.
