Since the first wave leaves around 10am, you’ll hit the Iron Pillar and Quwwat ul Islam Mosque before the midday rush. From there a short walk takes you to the Alai Darwaza and the gardens of the Mehrauli Archaeological Park. If you need a quick break, a stop at Hotel Pluto’s is only about two kilometres away. You could finish near the Lotus Temple and grab a snack at Café de la Poste.

A quick check shows the festival falls in late March. If you’re flying into Chandigarh, the quickest route is a taxi to Chandigarh Railway Station, then a train to Rupnagar the journey takes about an hour. From the Rupnagar station a shared auto will drop you at the gurdwara complex in roughly ten minutes. If you’d rather stay in Chandigarh, you can catch an early train and still arrive before the morning prayers.

Tip n Top is usually quieter after the lunch rush, so you’ll probably find a decent spot around 4 pm. If you do see a few people, the next best thing is the Pithoragarh Fort it’s only a short drive away and offers its own historic view of the valley. If you’re looking for a place to relax afterward, The Green Village Eco Resort in Jageshwar is a decent option a bit farther out.

If you’re heading straight from Bhuj, leave the temple around 3:30 pm, spend about 45 minutes there, then drive the 5 km to Narayan Sarovar. The lake walk takes roughly 30 minutes, so you’ll be back by 5 pm for the aarti. If you want a comfortable spot to rest before the evening, Time Square Resort and Spa in Bhuj is a good option.

A good early morning slot around 10 a.m. keeps the heat mild and the crowds thin. After the Minar, head straight to the Alai Darwaza, then to the Iron Pillar and Quwwat ul Islam Mosque. If you need a quick rest, Hotel Pluto’s is only a couple of kilometres away.

A good tip is to start around 4 am when the mist lifts; many herbivores come out then. If you’re staying near the town, the Hyatt Place Bodh Gaya is close to the bus stop, so you can catch a local bus right after dawn and still arrive before the sanctuary opens. This keeps you on schedule and lets you leave the city lights behind early.
