Robber’s Cave opens at 7 am and closes around 7 pm, so if you start at Lacchiwala by 6 am you’ll hit the cave before the mid afternoon heat. The drive from Lacchiwala to Robber’s Cave takes roughly 40 minutes, which fits nicely into a day trip loop that includes Sahastradhara after the cave.

If you’re staying at Ashok Villa you’ll be only a 15 minute walk from Kote Gate, so you can hit the market just before the midday rush. The spice corner facing the bazaar square is renowned for fresh cardamom, cumin and garam masala. Do you have a particular textile colour or weave you’re after?

ARTILLA INN is only about 800 metres from the Gandhi Smarak Sangrahalaya, so you can hop out and hit the museum right away. It’s also a short walk to the Sabarmati Riverfront, and the hotel’s central location means you’ll be just a few minutes from Bhadra Fort if you want to add that. The rooms are well rated and the free Wi Fi is handy for quick navigation.

A quick detour to the Hotel River Bay area, about six kilometres away, gives a nice riverside perspective with the temple reflected in the water. From there you can capture the Godavari’s bend and the low lying palms that frame the riverbank, adding a contrasting texture to the hard lined domes. This spot keeps the walk under ten kilometres and gives you a varied palette of shots.

If you’re aiming for a quick cultural bite, the Thursday film screening at the Glasshouse is a good fit. It ends around 7 pm, so you can stroll to the Golden Temple before the evening crowd and still have time to walk through the nearby fort or museum. After that, a short drive to the Best Western Kapurthala gives you a comfortable spot to relax.

If you’re staying near Dhokamale, a quick coffee at Kokanwadi Resort before heading out can give you a nice break. From the airport or bus stand, an auto to the lighthouse takes about 10 15 minutes, then a 20 minute walk to Mandvi Beach. Aim for a 3 pm start to catch the late afternoon light and finish at the beach just as the sun sets.

You could try shooting from the back tee of hole 5; the angle lets the palace towers sit just behind the green marker and the fairway stays in focus. A 24 mm wide angle is ideal, and keep the tripod light most staff only allow a small monopod on the perimeter. If you need a quick break, the President Hotel is just a kilometre away and has good parking.

If you finish around sunset, the lamp lit sculptures look great and the air cools, making the walk to the nearby small park on Bannerghatta Road more pleasant. From there you can head back to Residency Road and drop by Vivanta Bengaluru for a quick refresh before heading into the city.

If you’re already in Jammu and want a quick return, a shared auto from the Tawi bus stand takes the direct 35 km stretch and drops you near the temple entrance. It’s usually cheaper than a private cab and you avoid the extra bus ride from Poonch. If you plan to stay the next day, The Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa in Gulmarg is a convenient base.

The stadium usually offers a short 30 minute guided tour around 10 am, so if you arrive early you can walk through the stands before the afternoon match starts. After the game, a quick detour to the Gurugram Heritage Museum is just a 10 minute drive away and gives a taste of local history. If you need a place to grab a coffee, Foxtrail Sector 42 AM Hotel Kollection is only about 22 km from the stadium.

If you’re staying at the Best Western La Vista Pathankot you can catch a local bus from the station that heads straight toward Shahpur Kandi. The bus stops right at the fort’s bus stand, so the walk is just a few minutes. On the way you’ll cross the Shahpur Kandi Barrage, which offers a nice spot for a quick photo of the river. A phone camera is fine, but a small tripod can help you capture the fort’s stonework and the barrage view more clearly. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.
