If you’re heading to the beach, try an early morning walk around 9:30 a.m. The sea is still warm at about 29 °C and the breeze is light before the first afternoon shower. Afterward, you can grab a coffee at the TSG Grand’s garden, which stays dry even when clouds roll in. This gives you a dry spot to wait out any brief rain. If you’re aiming for a quiet shot of the eastern rampart, try arriving around 6:30 am when the sun is just low enough to give the stone a warm rim but before the first wave of tourists. The light then cuts the carvings nicely without harsh shadows, and you’ll have a clear view of the surrounding hills for a background that changes as the day progresses. After the fort, a quick drive to Pushkar Lake around 10 am lets you capture the morning mist over the water, adding a soft, reflective quality that contrasts well with the stone. If you need a nearby base, The Fern Residency in Ajmer keeps the commute short and offers a comfortable spot to rest before heading back.

You could start at the airport, drop your bags at Capital O Siddartha Grand, then head to Undavalli Caves. After a quick visit, a 3 km drive takes you to Prakasam Barrage for a river photo break. From there, take the single lane hill road to Kanaka Durga; the climb takes about 30 minutes and you’ll reach the temple just before sunset.

You might also want to check the stone lintel of the small Shiva shrine on the outer wall it bears a 5th century Sanskrit inscription that references the Satavahana period. After that, a short drive to the old watchtowers in Kurnool lets you see how Vijayanagara fortifications lined the route to Srisailam. If you’re staying in Bangalore, The Oberoi Bengaluru is a nice base before heading out.

You might also want to check out the small shrine right after the parking at Tip n Top locals say it’s quieter and still gives a good view. From there a quick drive to Pithoragarh Fort gives a different angle of the valley, and the fort’s walls are open to the public so you can wander around without the crowds you’d see at the viewpoint. If you’re looking to unwind after that, The Green Village Eco Resort Jageshwar is a decent option a bit farther out. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

A good extra tip is to aim for the 3:30 am slot if you can get off the bus a bit earlier; the mist lifts sooner and you’ll see more birds and deer. If you stay at Hyatt Place Bodh Gaya, the 3:45 am bus drops you right near the entrance, so you can head straight in as soon as the sanctuary opens.

If you’re staying at Casa De Alnena, the museum is a quick half kilometre walk. After about 90 minutes of exploring the interactive displays you can head straight to Benaulim Beach for a sunset stroll, then hop on a scooter for the short 3 kilometre ride to Colva. The cooler November February evenings make the beach walk comfortable, and the beach tends to be quieter after 5 pm.

If you’re staying at Hotel O POP Foreshore Resort, you can hop out around 4 pm and still catch the evening light on the mountains before the crowd peaks. The temple’s 24 hour access means you can also come back for a late night prayer if that suits your schedule.

You could start at the lighthouse around 3 p.m. to catch the early sunset light, then walk the 2 km to Mandvi Beach. The walk takes about 20 minutes, so you’ll be on the shore just as the sun dips. From the airport or bus stand, an auto rickshaw drop off near the lighthouse is quick, and you can walk the short stretch to the beach. If you’re staying nearby, a coffee break at the Kokanwadi Resort in Dhokamale before heading out would be a nice touch.

You could also skip the auto after Dhauli and walk the 3 km to Lingaraj. From there a short auto hop of about ten minutes lands you right at Khurda Fort before the afternoon rush. If you prefer a place to stay nearby, Hotel O Sunshine 2 is only 16 km away and easy to reach from the main bus stand. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.
