You might start a bit later, say 6 am, to catch the lake when the mist is still hanging. The sanctuary’s main trail near the lake is flat and easy for kids, and the early morning light makes spotting deer and birds easier. After about two hours, head straight to Jataun Shiv Temple; the 10 km drive takes roughly 20 minutes. On the way you can pull into the small tea stop near the hill station for a quick break before heading back. If you want a relaxing pause after the temple, a short detour to Chillaru Spa & Resort in Solan offers a nice place to stretch before you return to Nahan.
