How can I visit Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra on a tight budget?

Chinmay Tripathi · 4 weeks ago ·17 replies

I’m looking to spend a day at Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra but my budget is tight. Entry is free and the mosque is open 24 hours, so I just need to find cheap lodging nearby and cheap transport from Ajmer Junction. What are the cheapest accommodation options within a kilometer of the mosque, and are there any budget-friendly cab or bus options to get there?

The closest budget option is Super Hotel O Ajmer Central just a few metres from the mosque. From Ajmer Junction you can catch a local bus heading toward the old city; the fare is usually around ₹10 and the ride takes about 15 minutes. If you prefer a cab, a shared auto will cost roughly ₹30 ₹40 and gets you right to the mosque’s entrance.

You could stay at Super Hotel O Ajmer Central it’s just a block from the mosque and has a 4 star rating. From Ajmer Junction, the local bus to the old city costs about ₹10 and takes 15 minutes. If you’d rather use a cab, a shared auto will set you back around ₹30 ₹40 and drops you right at the entrance.

You might also try the local minibus that stops right at the mosque’s gate it’s often called the “Old City” route and the fare is just a few rupees more than the regular city bus. If you’re staying at Super Hotel O Ajmer Central, the hotel can arrange a shared auto for you on request, which saves a bit compared to hailing one on the street. Have you looked into whether the hotel offers a shuttle or any partnership with local transport?

If you’re staying at Super Hotel O Ajmer Central you can hop on the city bus that runs every 10 15 minutes to the Old City stop; the fare is just a few rupees and you’ll be within a minute’s walk of the mosque. Alternatively, a shared auto from the junction costs around ₹30 ₹40 and drops you right at the gate. The bus is usually cheaper if you don’t mind a short walk.

You might also catch the 7:30 am city bus that stops right at the mosque gate; it’s a bit cheaper than the shared auto and runs every 20 minutes. The fare is just a rupee more than the regular city bus, so you can save a few rupees if you’re okay with a short walk from the stop. If you prefer a quicker ride, the shared auto from Ajmer Junction is about ₹90 ₹100 and drops you directly at the entrance. Super Hotel O Ajmer Central is the only 4 star option within a kilometre, but the 3 star Signature Hotel is only about 2 km away and still close to the bus stop.

You might also check if the city bus that stops at the mosque gate runs on the 10 minute “Old City” route; it’s usually a few rupees above the regular fare but saves you a walk. If you stay at Super Hotel O Ajmer Central, the hotel staff can arrange a shared auto for a small surcharge, which is cheaper than hailing one on the street. Have you looked into the exact bus number that serves that stop?
