October’s post monsoon humidity can make the walk to Durga Devi a bit sticky, but the hills look especially green and the Ganga is calm. In March the weather is cooler and the crowds thinner. If you’re staying overnight, the ArtBuzz Rishikesh hostel is a convenient base and you can drop by Haridwar in the afternoon to catch the evening Ganga Aarti before heading back.
