Since the Artist Village is open all day and free, you can comfortably spend about two to three hours to see the main exhibitions and maybe catch a workshop if it’s scheduled. In the evening there are usually evening art talks or live performances that last an hour or so, so you could stay a bit longer if you’re interested. If you’re short on time, heading straight to Sabarmati Ashram after a quick visit would still give you a good evening. If you stay near ARTILLA INN, you’ll be just a short walk from both spots.

For a budget trek, I’m weighing Deomali Hill against Araku Valley. Deomali is Andhra Pradesh’s highest peak at 1672 m, open 24 hours and free to enter. Araku Valley is only about 60 km away and known…
