Weekend trip to Surya Narayan Temple in October – what weather to expect?

Annette Pandya · 2 weeks ago ·17 replies

I’m planning a weekend visit to Surya Narayan Temple this October and want to know what kind of weather to expect. The temple is open 24 hours, so I’d like to catch the sunrise but don’t want to be caught in a heat wave or a sudden downpour. I’ve read that October is one of the best months to visit Rajasthan, but I’d appreciate any details on typical temperatures and precipitation. Also, since nearby spots like Hawa Mahal and City Palace are just a few kilometres away, would the same weather apply there?

October in Jaipur usually sees daytime highs around 28 °C and evenings cooling to about 18 °C, but there can be short showers, especially in the first half of the month. The same pattern holds for the surrounding sites like Hawa Mahal and City Palace, so a light rain jacket is handy. If you’re staying close to the temple, a hotel such as Jai Mahal Palace offers easy access to the sunrise spot and a good view of the early light.

Sounds good. In early October the average morning temp around 18 °C and it can dip to 12 °C at sunrise, so a light jacket is useful. Rain chances are low after the first week, but a quick umbrella is handy. If you’re staying near the temple, the Jai Mahal Palace is close and has a good view of the sunrise spot.

In early October the monsoon is usually winding down, so you can expect a few short showers in the first week but by mid month the skies clear. Average sunrise temperature is around 12 °C, rising to about 28 °C by noon. The same pattern holds for Hawa Mahal and City Palace since they’re close. If you’re staying near the temple, a quick stay at Jai Mahal Palace gives you a good sunrise view. Would you need tips on the best spot to watch the sunrise?

If you’re staying near the temple, the Ashok Villa is only 0.7 km away and offers a good view of the sunrise spot. It’s a short walk, so you can grab a light jacket and an umbrella just in case. Do you need tips on the best time to leave your room to catch the sunrise?

Since the monsoon tapers off by mid October, you’ll usually see clear skies after the first week, so a light umbrella is enough. Sunrise temperatures hover around 12 °C, climbing to about 28 °C by noon, similar to Hawa Mahal and City Palace. If you’re staying near the temple, the Ashok Villa is only 0.7 km away and offers a convenient early morning view. Do you need tips on the best time to leave the room?

If you’re staying at the Ashok Villa, you’ll be just 0.7 km from the sunrise spot, so a quick walk gets you there before the first light. The morning temps dip to about 12 °C and rise to 28 °C by noon, with only a brief chance of rain in the first week of October. The same pattern applies to Hawa Mahal and City Palace.

If you’re staying at Ashok Villa you’re only a 10 minute walk from the sunrise spot, and the temple’s open 24 hours so you can also catch the evening glow. In mid October the sky is usually clear after the first week, but a light rain jacket is still wise just in case. The same pattern of cool mornings around 12 °C and warming to about 28 °C by noon applies to Hawa Mahal and City Palace as well.

If you’re staying at Ashok Villa, you’re only a ten minute walk from the sunrise spot, so you can leave your room around 5:30 am to catch the first light. The mornings stay cool, around 12 °C, and by noon it climbs to about 28 °C, with only brief showers possible in the first week. This pattern is the same for Hawa Mahal and City Palace.
