You could also grab a taxi from the Pathankot station; it takes about ten minutes and you can drop off at the fort entrance directly, skipping the walk. On the way, the small village of Shahpur Kandi has a local tea stall that’s a quick stop for a cup before you hit the fort. A phone camera will catch the basic angles, but if you want sharper shots of the stone carvings, a compact DSLR or a smartphone with a good zoom lens helps.
