Family arrival early morning: best plan for Chauth Mata Temple visit?

Rajat Mann · 3 weeks ago ·17 replies

We’ll be arriving around 6 a.m. near Jodhpur and want to start with Chauth Mata Temple, which stays open 24 hours and has free entry. After the temple, we’d like to see some nearby sites like Mehrangarh Fort (5 km away) or Umaid Bhawan Palace, but we’re not sure which order works best for a family with kids. Are there any child‑friendly activities or spots close to the temple that we should consider before heading to the fort? What is a practical early‑morning itinerary that keeps the day relaxed for the whole family?

After the temple you could stroll to the nearby Chauth Mata gate where kids can run around the open courtyard. From there, a short walk to the Jodhpur Clock Tower gives a quick city view before heading to Mehrangarh. The fort is open until 5 pm, so you’ll still have time to explore the palace gardens inside. If you want a place to rest, FabHotel Prime The Jodhpur is just a few kilometres away and has good family rooms.

A good pause before the fort is the Jodhpur Clock Tower; it’s a short walk from the temple and kids can run around the square while you grab a quick snack. After that, head straight to Mehrangarh the fort opens early and you’ll get the best light for photos. If you need a break, FabHotel Prime The Jodhpur is only a few kilometres away and has family rooms. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

A quick stop at the Jodhpur Clock Tower right after the temple lets the kids run around the square and you grab a light breakfast on the street. From there you can head straight to Mehrangarh; the fort opens early, so you’ll get good light and fewer crowds. If you need a quick break before the fort, consider staying at FabHotel Prime The Jodhpur, which is just a few kilometres away and offers family rooms.

After the temple you could head to the nearby Jodhpur Clock Tower. Kids love running around the square and you can grab a quick bite from a stall there. From the tower a short walk takes you straight to Mehrangarh, where the fort opens early and you’ll avoid the midday heat. If you need a quick break before the fort, FabHotel Prime The Jodhpur is a short distance away and offers family rooms.

After the clock tower you could stop by the small market near the temple; kids love the colorful stalls and there’s a little play corner in the open square. From there a quick walk to the fort keeps the pace easy. If you need a break before heading to the fort, FabHotel Prime The Jodhpur is just a few kilometres away and offers family rooms.

If you want a quick stop before the fort, the small market right next to the temple has a few stalls where kids can chase pigeons and a little open square for a quick game. After that you can walk straight to the Jodhpur Clock Tower and then head to Mehrangarh. Once you’re inside the fort, the gardens around Umaid Bhawan Palace are a nice spot where the kids can run around and you can relax a bit before heading back.

You might also pause at the gardens around Umaid Bhawan Palace after the fort. The open lawns let kids run around and there’s a shaded spot for a quick break before heading back.
