The falls are especially misty around 8 am, so getting there early gives the kids a clearer view before the trail gets busier. If you stay at Royale Park you can drop the kids off at the parking, walk to the falls in about ten minutes, then head back for a quick splash in the hotel pool before heading out for Vembanad. Also, the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary opens at 9 am, so you can fit a short bird watching walk right after the waterfall before lunch.
