Peace Park opened in 2004 after a coalition of local NGOs and international peace groups campaigned for a green public space. The first major event was a 2005 peace rally that drew over 5,000 people. In 2008 the park hosted the National Environmental Workshop, and by 2012 it became a venue for the Jaipur Cultural Exchange Festival, pairing local artists with international performers. October is a good month because the park usually runs a free guided walk on the first weekend, focusing on the park’s ecological projects and the 2015 peace treaty commemorations.
