A handy tip is that the fort’s parking is free and you can leave the car there for the whole day. From the fort head east to Rushikonda Beach it’s a quick 10 km drive and you’ll avoid the peak rush that hits the main road around 11 am. After the beach, instead of jumping straight to the zoo, stop at Kailasagiri first; the hilltop park opens around 9 am and the traffic on the route to the zoo is usually lighter after 12 pm. If you’re using local buses, route 1 runs from the fort to the beach and then to Kailasagiri, so you can hop off and on without back tracking. Does anyone know if the zoo’s entrance gate gets crowded on weekday mornings?
