A good trick is to head out around 6:30 am when the air is still cool and the first light makes the stone reliefs look dramatic. The kids usually finish the walk before lunch, so you can grab a quick dosas at the beachside café right by the entrance, then if you want a sit down bite a short drive to the Pai Viceroy Hotel Tirupati works nicely. The pavilion near the water is a nice spot for a quick splash break before you start the walk.
