If you want a quick rest before the early train, there are a handful of small guesthouses just outside the bus stand that let you drop a bag in a storage room. They usually offer a day rate room for a few hours and the staff can help you with the temple schedule. If you decide to stay overnight, the town of Chitradurga is only a 50 km drive and has a few budget hotels that give you a quiet night before the next morning’s train.
