If you’re only stopping for a quick shot, the Chandra Peak viewpoint just before the turn to the Tungnath circuit gives a wide angle of the valley and the jagged peaks; it’s usually less crowded and the early morning light glows off the ridges. A brief walk to the Tungnath temple itself is worth the extra 10 minute trek the sunrise from the top of the hill is a classic shot. If you have a few more minutes, the trail to Chandrashila can be done in an hour and the panorama from the summit is unbeatable, especially in the golden hour.
