If you’re looking for a quieter walk after the temple, the Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace’s open courtyards let you stretch out without the crowds you’ll find at Meenakshi. The palace’s large, light filled galleries also give a nice contrast to the temple’s stone carvings. If you decide to head out the next day, the Vaigai Dam offers a relaxing riverside walk that’s a nice break from the historic sites.
