The local bus that goes to the village near Badaghagara usually leaves every 30 minutes from Keonjhar Bus Stand, and it stops at Sanaghagara first. From there you can walk a short distance to Gonasika Temple. If you need a quick break before heading back, HOTEL SRI is only 2.5 km from the station and has very basic rooms. Does anyone know if the bus runs earlier on Saturday mornings?

If you’re staying near Hubli Junction, Denissons Hotel is only a short walk from the temple and has family rooms. The temple’s free parking lets you drop the kids off and walk to the courtyard, which usually has a small play corner. The kitchen serves a plain thali rice, dal, and a mild curry that can be ordered in a smaller portion for little ones.

The gopuram on the east side is a 7 tiered Pallava masterpiece, and the 1,500 steps to the sanctum were expanded by the Cholas. A quick way to see the layers is to stop at the lobby of Marasa Sarovar Premiere Tirupati they usually have a small timeline board that marks the Thondaiman foundation, Pallava gopuram, Chola expansion and Vijayanagara mandapa.

If you’re staying at Hotel Taj Resorts you’ll be right by the deck, so you can hop on as soon as it opens at 5 am. The garden stays especially quiet until about 6 pm; after that the crowd climbs but still lags behind the Taj Mahal’s main entrance. For a more relaxed walk, aim for the early morning slot.

If you’re only after a quick detour, start at Banjar and head east on NH5 to the Great Himalayan National Park entrance. The drive takes about 30 minutes. Park near the viewpoint, spend 90 minutes walking, then return on the same road. From the park you can add a 10 minute drive to Shringa Rishi Temple for a 45 minute visit before heading back. Madpackers Jibhi is a convenient base just under 8 km from Banjar and sits on the same route, so you can drop your bags there and hop on a quick round trip. You could hit the park at 6 am, then catch a local taxi to the museum it’s only a 3 km hop that usually takes about ten minutes. After a quick walk inside, head south for the 5 km stretch to the temple; the road is fairly direct, so you’ll be there by mid morning. From the temple, the 8 km drive to the caves takes roughly 20 minutes if traffic is light. If you want a place to drop your bags before the evening, the Green land Tower Hotel is just a short walk from the park and gives easy access to all three spots.

If you’re only stopping for a quick break, a short walk up to Hemakuta gives you the panoramic shot without a big detour. The climb is only a few hundred steps and parking is free, so you can fit it into a 30 minute window. If you’d rather rest before heading on, the Royal Rich County in Gangavathi is only about 19 km away and offers a quick layover.

The Gurkha Fort has a small courtyard that kids can roam around, and there’s a kids’ activity corner in the museum where they can learn about the fort’s history with simple displays. If you want a sit down breakfast a bit later, Storii by ITC Hotels, The Kaba Retreat Solan opens at 7 am and offers a full menu. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

A good way to squeeze in a few hours is to hit the main clearing loop first, then ask a guide for a quick 45 minute trek into the denser thickets this spot often shows larger mammals that you miss on the loop. If you have a bit of time left, stop at Hukam’s Lalit Mahal for a coffee before heading back on the road.

You might want to check the bus timetable ahead of time the Uljhawan stop opens around 6 am and the last bus leaves near 7 pm, so you can plan a sunset walk with plenty of daylight left. If you’re staying at the Bloom Hotel, there’s free parking and a short drive to the airport, which makes the 35 km stretch to the bus stop feel manageable.

October’s temperatures hover around 15 20 °C, so a light jacket is enough. The eastern trail is shorter and offers a different angle of the peaks, good for wide angle shots, and it’s usually cooler in the mornings. If you stay at Vatsyayana A Himalayan Boutique Resort, the staff can help you time your walk so you’re at the riverside terrace when the first light hits the water.

If you’re looking for a quiet spot just steps from the temple, FabHotel Prime Royal Inn is the most convenient. For a slightly more upscale feel while still walking distance, Novotel Guwahati GS Road is a good choice. And after a day of walking, try Bihu Dhara on the opposite side of the street for a classic fish curry and pitha combo. Need help picking a room type?

A good spot is under the banyan tree near the fountain it’s shaded and gives a great city view. If you’re heading early in the morning, the light is soft and the crowds are thin. For a quick bite, grab a samosa from the bakery on Marine Drive before you climb up.

A good pace is about an hour and a half inside Marble Palace spend 45 minutes on the marble halls, 20 on the sculpture gallery, and another 15 at the private zoo. From there a quick 10 minute walk gets you to Victoria Memorial, then a 30 minute metro hop to Howrah Bridge. If you’re staying at Hotel 16 avenue, the memorial is just a short stroll from your room.

If you’re staying at Lemon Tree Hotel Rajkot you can head out early to the western parapet. The sun will rise behind the dome, giving a soft rim on the gold leaf and a clean backdrop. A tripod lets you keep a slow shutter for a sharp dome shot while the courtyard stays empty. This angle also avoids the glare that can appear later in the morning.
