If you’re staying near Tirupati, the Pai Viceroy Hotel Tirupati is a convenient base. The bus to Hiriyur departs around 5 pm from the Tirupati bus stand, takes roughly an hour and lands you close to the lake by 6:30 pm, just in time for the sunset. This timing works well for a relaxed late afternoon arrival.

If you’re already near Dhokamale, a quick coffee break at the Kokanwadi Resort can give you a nice pause before heading out. From the airport or bus stand, an auto to the lighthouse takes about ten to fifteen minutes, then a twenty minute walk brings you to Mandvi Beach right as the sun starts to dip. This way you get the best light at both spots without rushing.

Tip n Top usually calms down after the lunch crowd, so a 4 pm arrival should still find a decent spot. If you see a few people, try the small shrine just past the parking locals say it’s quieter and still offers a great view. Afterward you could head to Pithoragarh Fort for a different angle of the valley. If you’re looking to unwind, The Green Village Eco Resort Jageshwar is a convenient option a bit farther out. Since the church is open all day, start at the 1579 stone façade, then head straight to the original 16th century iconostasis inside. After the side chapel, you can quickly walk past the Dutch style gatehouse that sits right next to the church. If time allows, the nearby St. Joseph’s Church on the same street is another quick 17th century stop. A quick coffee at Hotel Aida, just a kilometre away, will let you rest before you keep driving.

If you’re heading out after the rock garden, try a short walk to the nearby Nandi Hills Park it’s only about a kilometer away and has a quiet lake and benches that work well for a relaxed stroll. If you need a quick refresh, Vivanta Bengaluru on Residency Road is just a minute away and offers a nice lounge to unwind.

You can also park a bike or scooter at the temple’s small parking lot it’s free and only a few metres from the entrance, so you can avoid a short taxi hop. If you’re traveling on a fair day, try catching the 08:30 Solan Dagshai bus; the traffic around the brewery usually clears a bit before 09:00.

If you’re aiming for the waterfalls after the descent, keep in mind that the 15 km drive is fairly flat, so you can reach Hidlumane by early evening even on cooler days. A light waterproof jacket works well for both the misty morning trek and the sudden afternoon drizzle that can appear in October. If you need a base near the trailhead, Hotel Ambika International Byndoor is a convenient option. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

You could also hop on a quick auto rickshaw from the museum; the fare to Shaniwar Wada is usually under ₹30 and you’ll get there in about ten minutes, giving you plenty of daylight to explore the fort before its 5 pm closing. If you’re staying at Ramee Grand Hotel, the auto pickup point is just a short walk from the lobby.

A shared jeep from Pithoragarh usually starts around 6 am and can drop you at the Berinag Temple, then the tea gardens, and back to Pithoragarh by late afternoon. The same vehicle often has a stop in Chaukori, so you can hop on there for a quick visit. If you want a comfortable base a bit farther out, The Green Village Eco Resort Jageshwar is a good option and still within a short drive of those spots.

You could also take a shared auto from the Jammu Tawi bus stand to the temple; the route is about 35 km and the fare is usually lower than a private cab. If you’re already near Poonch, catching the local bus to Jammu first and then switching to a shared auto keeps costs down while still letting you leave early for a day visit.

If you’re heading from Kokrajhar station, the taxi drop off is just outside the main platform, so you can grab a ride right after the train leaves. A quick 15 minute drive to Gossaigaon usually takes about 20 minutes if you leave before 4 pm, but traffic can slow things down after 5 pm. If you prefer a bit more comfort, you could arrange a pickup from Radisson Blu Hotel Guwahati, which is only a short drive away from the town.

The palace’s façade is a striking mix of Gujarati sandstone arches and European mansard roofs, with a central dome that echoes Mughal style but is capped with a European balustrade. Guided walks usually start near the main gate and highlight the original ballroom that once hosted royal dances. If you’re staying nearby, the Lemon Tree Hotel Rajkot is a convenient base for catching the next tour. Have you seen the frescoes in the great hall?

If you’re staying near the station, the Super Collection O Mathura Near Railway Station is just half a kilometre from the temple, so you can walk or hop on a quick auto from the bus stand. A shared taxi is also available right outside the station and will drop you near the temple without a long wait. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.
