A quick stop at the Maram Resort Mamalakandam is handy if you need a budget stay it’s only 14 km from Thattekad and offers basic rooms at a reasonable rate. For the Hill Palace Museum, the entry fee is just a few rupees and a local bus from the main stand drops you near the museum; a shared auto from there costs under ₹50. This way you can hit both sites without stretching your budget.

If you can leave a bit earlier, a quick detour to Baghmara Tea Estate on the way out gives a quieter walk and a chance to see the tea terraces from a different angle before the sunrise. On the return, a stop at the Neermahal Palace offers a quick cultural break, and ending the day at Lake Side Resort Neermahal lets you unwind close to Agartala.

A good option is staying at The Green Village Eco Resort Jageshwar. From there you can arrange a shared jeep that drops you at the tea gardens early, then takes you to Chaukori and back to Pithoragarh. The jeep usually departs around 6 am, so you’ll beat the midday crowd at the temple and have plenty of daylight to stroll through the historic sites.

A good spot for early sunrise is the small park just north of the Ganga Aarti area at Dashashwamedh Ghat it’s usually quieter and gives a straight view of the river. For sunset, try Assi Ghat; the light on the stone steps is dramatic and you can set up a tripod without the crowds that gather later in the day. If you’re staying near the ghats, Hotel Abhinav International is a short walk away and has easy access to both sites. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

If you’re tight on time, a quick drive to Lower Manair Dam gives you a 20 minute walk around the reservoir and a chance to spot the small boats. The fort itself is a half hour walk but the scenery is less varied. Ujwala Park is a 15 minute stroll from the city centre, good for a quick green break before you leave. If you want a quick city side stay, the Lemon Tree Premier Vijayawada is a nearby option.

The bus that drops you right outside the park entrance is the 45A, which runs from the nearest metro station. If you’re staying nearby, the Townhouse OAK Hotel C Pearls in Bahadurgarh is only about a 7 km walk from the park, so you could grab a quick breakfast there before heading out. Do you prefer an early weekday run or a weekend morning?

If you can get in before 10 am you’ll catch the 30 minute guided walk that starts at 10 am, then you can head straight to a match that kicks off at 4 pm. After the game, a quick 10 minute drive takes you to the Gurugram Heritage Museum, which is a nice bite of local history. For a quick coffee break, Foxtrail Sector 42 AM Hotel Kollection is only about 22 km away.

Early mornings are best; the first guided tour usually starts around 9 am, giving you a cool walk to Albert Hall Museum before the sun climbs. If you’re staying near the city centre, the Sheel Mahal hotel is only about half a kilometre from the palace, so you can hop out early and return before the afternoon heat.
